Default Frugal living thread?

Wasn't there a thread somewhere with ideas for living frugally, particularly on a fixed income?

If there isn't, wouldn't that make a good forum? (Or maybe there already is one and I'm too stupid to see it...."

I don't like cell phones, I actually think people are rude with them. I think they do have their place in the world so I do have one of the prepaid ones to use for emergency only and turn it on only when I am traveling. So that is one way I keep my expenses down.

Great idea for a thread.

Default Frugal Living Thread

Actually, it's this one -- the sister thread to Vonn's debt diet, also an excellent thread!

Actually, I just realized if it's fixed income, Blessings might have been thinking about Vonn's thread. It's good thing though to have the opportunity to be reminded of them both!

I just resurrected it in Social Chat if anyone is interested in adding any money-saving suggestions to it!

I couldn't agree more. Maybe because I worked answering phones for years, maybe because I'm just too darn cheap. Not sure, but I can't bring myself to own a cell phone.

It does get frustrating when I don't have a quarter to make a call at a pay phone, and I don't have a car, but I've lived without for 31 years, why change now?
