Default Visiting Branson Soon

My DH and I decided to get away when my two teenagers are gone to Youth Camp, so we're going to Branson and spending three nights. Anyone have any suggestions on things that are a 'must do' there? We went once before with the kids and spent most of our time at Silver Dollar city, but we don't want to do theme parks since it's just us this time. This time we should be able to do some shows, shopping, etc.(things we would enjoy instead of entertaining the kids!) Any suggestions from those who have visited Branson??

Thanks!

Sorry, never been to Branson. Was in Joplin for business a few years back and the hotel had brochures for Branson, but just touristy stuff. Like Yakov Smirnoff and Pat Boone. Wish I could be more helpful.

You have to see the Baldknobbers show. OMG, I thought I was going to pee my pants I was laughing so hard. http://www.baldknobbers.com/

There is a new show opening this season called Noah, the musical. I would love to see it.

One of the days we wanted a slower pace. We toured the Stone Hill winery and did the wine tasting.

In the evenings, there is sometimes music and a light show down at the River market area.

MAN!! Just thinking about this makes me want to go back. It's like you have to go 3 or 4 times just to get to see everything.

OMG Day you need to swing by here to get me first...I want to go see that Noah show so bad! I think it is already open though...not sure. Branson is only a couple of hours from here, I've been thinking about taking the kids.

Silver Dollar City is ok better charge up a scooter though!

Baldknobbers show is always good, Dixie Stampede is fun but pricy...what resort town isn't, the traffic in Branson is insane, there is a new higher end shopping and show area over near Table Rock Lake...but who needs even pricier right?

One thing I loved was taking the helicopter ride over branson and Table Rock and it was really inexpensive, there is also the riverboat dinner and dancing cruise.

Don't waste money on the Yakov show I did not find it amusing at all and he spoke with such an obviously phony accent even though he has an accent LOL it was hard to understand.

The best show by far used to be at the Americana Theater cannot remember the country stars name....grrrrrr but he sold it anyway.

Thanks everyone!! I'll make sure to catch the baldnobbers show! Sounds fun!

No Silver Dollar City for us, we do that when we have our kids, this time it's just me and DH, so we don't have to do theme parks, thank goodness, even though I was impressed with Silver Dollar City when we went last time.

I'll have to look for the Riverboat Dinner and Dancing Cruise, that sounds good too. I don't like to fly, so I'll skip the helicopter.

We went to the Titanic museum and it was really cool. I like to shop at the outlet malls, some of them have some great bargains. I agree about the Dixie Stampede, especially if you like horses. You can go early and see all the horses in their fancy box stalls. Also, I think there is a hot air balloon ride somewhere near one of the malls.
