Default Auntie Em! Auntie Em!

Sittin' here watching the latest line of storms moving in our direction. It produced a tornado or three west of here, going thru the Twin Cities now..
We're not in Kansas anymore! 'Course, since we're starting in Minnesota, that's a GOOD thing..

Looks like we are luckin' out again..It's like the parting of the Red Sea, with the storm weakening in the spot that's going thru Red Wing, and the strongest parts are to the north and south of us with all kinds of weather warnings..It's raining pretty heavily now, pretty windy, too. Lots of lightening, but no twisters!

Just be sure to wave as you fly by..I'll do the same if the winds go in the opposite direction..

Whew! Glad you didn't get any twisters. Keep the hatches battened down just to be safe!

Careful not to click your heels together 3 times: you don't wanna end up in Kansas!

LOL..If I ever figure out if I have hatches, and where they might be, I'll make sure they're battened..
Love the sign, Frank.."The Sunshine State"..Has a nice ring to it (though not necessarily a ring of truth)..

I got a call at 6:15 Saturday morning from a neighbor of our summer cabin up in Minong, WI (25 mi. west of Hayward). She said a tornado had gone through last night, and that it looked like a war zone. She's 2 doors down from us; her mom and dad's cabin is in between; a 30 ft. pine broke and fell on their roof; trees also fell on their garage.
The neighbor 2 doors down lost practically all of her trees. We had a tree bounce off of our roof and scratch the siding before falling. Our other neighbor cut it up for us and will use it in his wood stove.
His friend down the road had a lot of damage; his boat was in the middle of the lake, his pier was upside down, and his boat station was in pieces down the way. About 200 trees were damaged or destroyed just in the small area of our neighborhood. One property's trees were completely demolished. Another's shore station tipped over and tipped their boat with it. Luckily no one was injured.

This is the second storm in 2 years that has done severe damage to the trees in the area. And the last 2 summers were hot and dry. Very extreme weather...very eerie.

sorry Debbie I was up that night and saw how the two diff fronts were converging and just knew there was gonna be trouble with that storm.

and yes I agree the weather has been weird lately although last winter was what we use to have as a kid

but these tornados, not saying the path has shifted maybe tornado alley has widened iowa ill mis wis/minn indy yes these areas have tornados but it sure seems like we are having a lot more than what is status quo

glad no one was hurt debbie, sorry about the trees, its so beautiful up there
