I have 2 first is I will Survive by Gloria Gaynor
First I was afraid I was petrified Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side But I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong I grew strong I learned how to carry on and so you're back from outer space I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face I should have changed my stupid lock I should have made you leave your key If I had known for just one second you'd be back to bother me Go on now go walk out the door just turn around now 'cause you're not welcome anymore weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye you think I'd crumble you think I'd lay down and die Oh no, not I I will survive as long as i know how to love I know I will stay alive I've got all my life to live I've got all my love to give and I'll survive I will survive It took all the strength I had not to fall apart kept trying hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart and I spent oh so many nights just feeling sorry for myself I used to cry Now I hold my head up high and you see me somebody new I'm not that chained up little person still in love with you and so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free now I'm saving all my loving for someone who's loving me Up On The Roof By The Drifters, depending on my mood When this old world starts getting me down And people are just too much for me to face I climb way up to the top of the stairs And all my cares just drift right into space On the roof, it's peaceful as can be And there the world below can't bother me Let me tell you now When I come home feelin' tired and beat I go up where the air is fresh and sweet (up on the roof) I get away from the hustling crowd And all that rat-race noise down in the street (up on the roof) On the roof, the only place I know Where you just have to wish to make it so Let's go up on the roof (up on the roof) brief instrumental-chiefly strings At night the stars put on a show for free And, darling, you can share it all with me I keep a-tellin' you Right smack dab in the middle of town I've found a paradise that's trouble proof (up on the roof) And if this world starts getting you down There's room enough for two Up on the roof (up on the roof) Up on the roo-oo-oof (up on the roof) Oh, come on, baby (up on the roof) Oh, come on, honey (up on the roof) Thats me in a nutshell!

For me, it's the folk music I grew up on as a child. Sitting by the record player with Dad loading his vinyl and the 2 of us singing along. Mostly to Gordon Lightfoot and Cat Stevens.
As an adult, I found various CD versions of those songs I loved so much as a child. Including the Gordon Lightfoot greatest hits 4 disk collection. Which sadly doesn't even cover enough of the songs I remember and adore! Definitely "Same Old Obsession" ranks as one of the songs (by Lightfoot) that I still listen to and am flooded with fond memories. I can also be brought to tears listening to it. The words are so powerful and beautiful.

I'm a geek.....I love all the 70's music. My all time favorite song is "How Much I Feel" by Ambrosia. I have the CD and I think there's only one song on it that I'm not crazy about. I've about worn it out!!

lol theres an understatement on my behalf,
as long as you learn from it and move forward and do not do that same one again, learn from those is also healthy,

I blurt out songs all the time, and the guys I work with hate it! My dad does the same thing. He always does the really old ones, from the 40s!
I couldn't really name just one, but I love it when, "My Baby Does the Hanky Panky" comes on from Tommy James and the Shondells. I had no idea what that was when I was little, and if I probably listened to the words now I'd be appalled! But it still makes me smile, along with Gary Puckett stuff. As for the person that said they can't wait to see the movie of Mama Mia, I'm kind of torn. I saw the broadway production and just loved it! So did my co-worker, and he said the movie isn't nearly as good. So now I don't know whether to ruin my experience by going to the movie or not!

I can't tell you how many times I heard my daddy sing this one. NOw he couldn't carry a tune for nothing but he just laughed and picked at us kids when he sang this one.
It's Hard To Be Humble by Mac Davis Back of few months ago I was headlining at a great big night club and they put me up at what they call the Star Suite: Now here I am headlining at one of the biggest night clubs in the country and I wake up at eight o'clock in the morning in this Star suite all by myself. Aah that's what I said "Aah". But I did what I've always done to cheer myself up I picked up my guitar I sat down and wrote me a little song. Now this is how it feels to be alone at the top of the hill and trying to figure out why Oh Lord it's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way. I can't wait to look in the mirror 'cos I get better looking each day to know me is to love me I must be a hell of a man. O Lord it's hard to be humble but I'm doing the best that I can. I used to have a girlfriend but I guess she just couldn't compete with all of these love starved women who keep clamoring at my feet. Well I probably find me another but I guess they're all in awe of me who cares I never get lonesome cause I treasure my own company. Oh Lord it's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way. I can't wait to look in the mirror 'cos I get better looking each day to know me is to love me I must be a hell of a man. O Lord it's hard to be humble but I'm doing the best that I can. I guess you can say I'm a loner a cowboy outlaw tough and proud Well I could have lots of friends if I wanted but then I wouldn't stand out from the crowd some folks say that I'm "egotistical" well I don't even know what that means I guess it has something to do with the way that I fill out my skintight blue jeans. Oh Lord it's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way. I can't wait to look in the mirror 'cos I get better looking each day to know me is to love me I must be a hell of a man. O Lord it's hard to be humble we are doing the best that we can.
