Greta, your story about moving brings back memories of work for me!! Those movers can be rough....I can remember trying to talk to a woman who was hysterical because the mover dropped a family heirloom. How do you comfort someone in that situation?? That is one part of my job that I do not miss.

I hope you get a break from the heat. It's been very hot here - in the upper 90's. We get thunderstorms but not until it's dark out and I hate those kind. I need to see what's going on outside!!

It'll all be over soon.

There you go again! Putting Greta behind. Poor Greta. Always bringing up the rear.

No way to mince words ~ Moving suks! Hope you all survive this. Just think of it like camping (in the desert, in front of an oven, with no sunblock...)

A walk on the beach and supper also? What a great frined! Gee, and I thought I would be nice and offer up some prime space on my stained carpet. Dog & cat hair is complimentary to our guests

Love to you during "the adventure"

just dunk your head in cold water.
a wet head cools your body.
i don't envy you greta.

when you're all settled it will be a distant? memory.
what's the weather like in Italy?

Sending tons of good and cool vibes your way. It will all be a distant memory soon! Hang in there.

Now I'm laughing after reading everyone's thoughts. Just what I needed! My house is my own again and the AC is now fixed upstairs. The appraisal came back fine and we're clear to close on the 14th! All is right with the world.

Storage move should be no big deal. Jim will be home tomorrow afternoon to babysit the movers, so I'm taking the kayak out with my friend. The cioppino was fantastic. The movers ended up being pretty good once they saw things my way...and I only heard a few clanks and crunches. I guess we'll see on the other end!

As far as weather - I understand that Naples is very similar to where I live right now in VA. Hot in the summer, cold but not too cold in the winter and it doesn't snow.

Thanks for trying to cheer me up. You all are a funny bunch!

I miss the military movers. Such a day when they show up! lol We lost several boxes when we moved from Germany so it's good your counting. They paid us back but it was boxes full of German flasks and steins. *sigh* Did I mention they dropped our car from the huge magnet that places it on the boat? Or how there was more mileage on the car than should have been. The moving office said they think someone was joy riding our suped up Dodge Datona. lmao

Seriously, relax and enjoy the empty house. Before you know it you'll be in Italy living among all the boxes because you can't stop sight seeing!
