Ok, tomorrow is JP's birthday (4 years old). This weekend the "boys" went to Hooters to celebrate.
JP got the royal treatment!!!!!! He was the center of attention. All the girls sang to him and hugged him. Im sure there were quite a few jealous men in there. Anyway, JP comes home with this huge smile and exclaims "The pretty Hooters girls sang to me!" Oh my, he is still talking about it. But ofcourse, darling hubby didnt take any pictures. ARRRRGH. All 4 of my boys had a great time. |

I'm glad your son had a nice BDay.
But I think Hooters is totally degrading to women. And if my dh went there, he'd be sleeping in the doghouse. If he took my 4 yr old, he'd be sleeping with the fishes.

That is great! Glad he had such a great time - I am sure the others did too!! When we used to live in Florida it was my kids favorite place to eat - they loved the brown beans and of course chicken wings!!! I know the Hooters Girls were really great when the kids are around. We all had a great time when we were there.
I think it is great that you do what your son really wants! He will remember it even though he is only 4.

I say to each his own, however when I am having dinner I don't want to be staring at silicone and butt cheeks, but then again I am a girl, and my daughter would be in a nunnery if she wanted to work there! I most certainly would not take my children there but hey...thats just me...glad they had a good time though.

I've been to Hooters. I took Jim there one day and saw more skin than he did! He was so busy checking out the store that I ordered the food. The poor girl taking my order raised her leg and I got a clear crotch shot. Then she bent over to hand me my soda and I got a load of boobs. Jim was jealous that I got all the action. I told the girl what I saw and she was mortified.
In her defense, the girls were not slutty or flashing on purpose but the outfits are skimpy enough to reveal if standing the wrong way. Our waitress told us they only give you one uniform and you have to buy the rest. We gave her enough tip to buy her a new uniform, preferably one that covers more, per her own admission. She was a single mom trying to make a living like any of us. Shoot, you should have seen some of the outfits my mom had to wear as a waitress sometimes! Not as upper body revealing but the skirts were very short. We never took our boys there, just me and Jim one time but I don't think it's as bad as it's hyped up to be. We never even went back because it didn't do much for us. For real, the history behind the name is about owls. Okay, I know, lame. lol Anyway, my boys didn't go to their first Hooters until they were in college and their comment was "It's not that bad and not what we expected." Some of the girls were covered up in sweatshirts and jeans and not flirty like they thought they would be. AND, not all Hooter girls have large upper bodies. *wink* I suppose it could be different depending on where you go but over here in my neck of the woods it wasn't that bad. If any of us survived the 70's the shorts and tops we wore weren't far from what Hooter girls wear. The shorts are definately "Who wears short shorts, we wear short shorts" style. I remember cutting my tops to the upper waist and wearing them with a cool pair of Jordach jeans and high heels! lol

I think most people think of the Hooters girls they see in the ads. Most women don't look like that....and the ones who do paid good money for it!! Still though, I think there are probably other places that these women could make the same (if not more) money without having to wear such degrading outfits.
Personally, I would not want to walk around knowing that men were gawking at me. That being said.....thanks to the 37 pounds I have gained over the past two years I no longer have to worry about that - ever!!! And I don't even care!!!

Isn't it soooo typical of the dad's to forget to take all the family/special event photos?! I know my DH would forget
I know that they closed the Hooters up by us. From what I've heard, the girls weren't 'all that." Just a bunch of local girls trying to make a living. My DH went to one out in St Louis, said the chicken was AWESOME
