I was watching the coverage of the hurricane and they mentioned the Red Cross.
That got me to thinking about when I use to give blood before I was dx'd. I think about if my blood was safe back then or not. I had to get a blood transfusion earlier this year and I shudder to think about this stuff.

Most of the restrictions have been lifted for MSrs. Check with your local vampires, it's probably okay!

Oh I didn't know we could now donate. I still can't anyway because I'm anemic. Had 3 units 'donated' to me earlier this year. I wish I could tho. That would be something good to do.

Nat'l ban has been lifted but it's now up to the individual faciility. I've read reports from people who gave blood without a problem and others who were disallowed to contribute.
I know, it's weird. |

Baxter, try not to worry if you received good or bad blood. Today there are very strict rules in place by blood banks and hospitals. Of course, nothing is 100%, but I think you can rest assured your OK. They had HIV and Hep quick tests when I was a vampire and that was about 8 years ago. Jim was given blood about 5 years ago and we cringed but they assured us that it was fine.
Now, I wonder if they prove ms is genetic will the ban be placed on ms'rs again? No matter what give me the dang blood if I need it. I'll take my chances. I'd rather have ms than be dead. But that's just me.

I gave blood up until the year of my second big relapse. Sometimes I wish I could again, but I tend toward frailty if I'm feeling sickly so I think it's behind me now.
