A young MS friend of mine, Sarah, is in very early labor. She is also in the first week of a full blown Transverse Myelitis attack, and is numb, and in terrible pain, from the upper chest down. She is having a very hard time, and it's only just begun.

I honestly can't imagine a much worse situation.

She's dilated 1.5 cm right now, and not due for another 7 weeks. The TM numbness started a few days ago, but reached chest level today.

I am hoping she delivers before this attack escalates though, and TM usually takes about a week (after reaching the chest), before it will advance to the very difficult stage.

She was dx during/following her last pregnancy, about 3 yrs ago. It seems she has left a bladder infection too long (she's supposed to be cathing 2 X a day but has had a hard time doing that consistently with her big tummy) . . .

I am very worried about her and her mom. I am also concerned about how she will manage over this next 12 weeks with a new baby.

Thanks for your support. She's going to need all that she can get.

That poor girl. 7 weeks is a bit early for the little one, but I'm sure that Sara and the baby will be in good hands.
