Well, back to the original topic~ ahem~~ It is good to know that I am not the only one who feels lost at times and misses the "good ole days". Didn't think they were so good all the time, but I'd sure make a trade now if I could.

Thanks for the responses. It helps. Even w/all the goofing around I do, I still feel the pain of change. Who said "change" is good???

It's all in how you look at it . . .

According to the World Resources Institute, average life expectancy has grown in N America, from 50 yrs old to 70+ yrs . . . just since the 1950's.

So when we were born, people our age were either considered very old or dead.

I think I'm doing pretty good, compared to any generation before me.

Cherie

Oh Cherie, go on and tell us how good we have it. LOL I am telling you now, if I live to be 80+ and confined to some cormer in a nursing home, kill me. :p

Seriously, I am grateful for all I have gone thru but time does seem to be going too fast. I haven't finished loving and learning yet. I feel like I am in a timed exam and I don't usually do well with those.

DM 09-10-2008 07:43 PM

Did I ever tell you Cherie, that I think it's outstanding the way you are like a freakin World Book Encyclopedia? You are always looking something up for someone around here and I think it's so cool of you to do that.

So.... 70 is the new 50? 40???

I'll take it! Thanks Cherie.... You rock!

I still say Where did all those crow's feet come from????? *grin*

weegot5kiz 09-10-2008 07:57 PM

you are right about Cherie, DM, she is a wealth of information, and always trying to help others

NurseNancy 09-10-2008 10:01 PM

i'm with you DM.
i saw someone walking fast in the grocery parking lot one day as i was pulling into my handicapped parking space.

i think i walk slower than my poor dad did.
never thought "that" would be me. and i'm only 59. :(
