Sunday we had a 'big wind'!!!!! Lots of trees donw and power out everywhere. We finally got our power back on today and didn't have any trees down at our house. But I went 2 nights with no sound machine and especially no C PAP. And I missed Prison Break. I'm gratefull for the TV networks that show full episodes on the net. I am also glad that we had temps in the 70's during the day.

Sal has no power in OH still. It didn't cut the power here, but it did supply us with 3 straight days/nights of nonstop rains. I live in a river town and we've had some substantial flash floods. I never dreamed of hurricane weather hitting way up here.
Glad you're okay, Doyd!

Glad you made it through the storm okay. They said our winds were tropical strorm strength, just 2 mph below cat 1 hurricane. Sounds like yours were too.

How strong was the wind?
We had a big storm in late June (I'm in Omaha, Nebraska) that had straightline winds that were estimated to be 115 - 125 depending on where you were. (those are Cat 2 and Cat 3 hurricane strength winds!) Some of the damage here in Omaha was as bad or worse than some of the tornadoes that we've had recently. (we had tornadoes that didnt even get as bad as that straightline wind) It was a huge, very angry micro burst (I think it was more like a MEGA burst...it was scary and hit a huge area) I got video of some of it from out my back door. It was cool, but very scary to see. I've been close to some tornadoes that didnt scare me that much.

Hasn't this weather been the strangest??? Glad your'e doing OK, Doyd.
Sure hope Sal gets her power back soon. I'm worried about her. We had similar weather to AMN'S.... 3 days of pouring rain.
