Default I got the sweetest Birthday present...

Friday afternoon I called my sister to come over for dinner...she was gone on her birthday which was 9/30. She said she would call back...I called my son whose birthday is Oct 6th, three days after mine to see if him/family wanted to come over. I then called my daughter and asked if she wanted to come...then my dad called and I asked him.

Friday night by 8pm, I had a minimum of ten people over to eat seafood:
fried shrimp
shrimp scampi
steamed oysters
oyster stew
baked salmon with almond/amaretto

While I was eating one of the grandson's, the one that stays with me...the 6yro came over to where I was sitting. He said, Nani, I got something for you...I said you do...he says, you have to listen...

While all around us was talking, eating and just doing the normal crowd thing...he starts singing happy birthday. I was the only one that could hear him at first...but then people sitting close to me starting listening. He sang the whole song without missing a note and then he kisses, hugs and says...Nani, I love you more than moon shines full. A statement which means we go fishing close to fulll moons before or after...

To explain it more...in our family we fish together...a full moon its close to time to fish...We love the full moon or new. The brightness of the moon to him in his mind is a symbol of what we love...he loves me more than the moon shines.

I held my tears, and smiled and thought...he will have even a greater heart as he gets older. This child has never known me without MS...he gets it, he understands and one day, he will be the 'moon' for others.

What we could learn from the children in our life if we would just listen. The reason I didn't make it shorter is because you need to know that out of all the adults that were there...one little heart has learned the true meaning of love and is not afraid to show it...anywhere.
