Becky had to have two teeth extracted on the 1st -an infected wisdom tooth and the molar next to it - she's at home - on pain meds and antibiotics and hopefully eating some ice cream and napping !! Send her your warm wishes for a speedy return to NT - the place just isn't the same without her and Sting -

Hey Becky - how are you today?? when I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled ... it was a neck pillow and LOTS of ice cream!

Thank you for starting this thread for me. It's very nice to know that I am missed. I am doing fine! No mouth pain now but I still have jaw pain and can't open my mouth very far. That's been a really good thing between the antibiotics and not being able to open my mouth, I have lost 5 lbs. I just hope it continues. I spoke to my Dad this afternoon and since he is ill, I didn't tell him or Mom about the tooth thing. Dad just cracked me up asking me if I was cutting teeth at age 57. LOL I don't know anyone my age other than my brother who is 2 years younger that still have their wisdom teeth. Our dentist and the oral surgeon said it was rare. I had to have my son's wisdom teeth out when he was 15. I knew I had impacted wisdom teeth but never had a problem. WOW!!!! I woke up last Wednesday morning and was in PAIN!!! Swollen, huge face!!  Called my dentist at 7:30 am, called my brother to take me and got in to see my dentist at 9 am and he said it was bad so he called the oral surgeon who had me come right over.The oral surgeon took one look and said he thought I was going to have nerve damage and lose the molar next to the impacted tooth. He was very glad that I was on Gabapentin for the nerve pain. I didn't give a crp how many teeth he had to pull. LOL He called my Neuro before he did anything which impressed me that he was so careful when he found out I had MS. They put me completely out and monitored my vitals and it was over. He did pull the molar next to the wisdom tooth. The healing pain has been really bad but nothing like the tooth pain. I was so glad they took care of it so fast. I do not think I have any nerve damage. I can feel everything so hopefully, I got lucky. I go back Monday so the oral surgeon can removed the stitches. I don't have a clue if he is going to do anything else. I don't remember anything after the tooth was pulled or for the entire day. LOL Anyway, thanks for all your good wishes. I sure am sick of having these little extra things pop up like pacemaker surgery, my thighs are all screwed up from the Zocor and now the teeth problem. I hope things calm down. It's just killing me financially. Thank Heaven for credit cards!
