Gas was $2.69 in mid-town Omaha yesterday. My dad said that he saw one station selling it at $2.68.

My boyfriend lives in the capitol city, and he said gas there is about 30 cents MORE expensive than it is here, apparently the county there has a really nasty gas tax.

It's down here, too. $3.19 a gallon for regular grade! Sure does beat the $4.49 we had not even a month ago!!

$2.77 a gallon for regular in Newport, Maine yesterday!

I've seen prices ranging from 2.77 to 3.19 in the past few days. It just doesn't make any sense when I see a truck at one place and the new price is .50 cents higher than the next town with another truck delivering at another station with the same brand of gas!

I'm not sure how it works in other states but I know that here in GA the closer a gas station is to a major interstate the higher the price per gallon. Maybe they just think travelers are more apt to pay a higher price for the convenience of having it right off an exit than traveling farther for it at a cheaper price.

Yep, kitty has that right. I've definetly noticed that too.

Here in NC, we're still hovering in the $3.50 range. But we've always been above the average because of other taxes the elected officials have tacked on through the years.

NOT being political, just telling you how it is.

Filled up for $2.89 last night, but that was at the "convenient" location. Some of the others around are in the $2.70s.

$3.65 here in the Boise area, some places you can get it for $3.52 (membership gas stations). But in northern Idaho, they are paying $3.00 a gallon.
