Default You'll never believe this....

So I have oily skin. That's old news...but eating low fat etc, my skin's been looking great! Also, cutting out the cigs, definitely looking better!

Well, I've chronically had pimples appear behind my ears. You know, in the crease of the ear? Where the ear meets head in the hard cartelidge (however you spell it) area?

Well I had a doozy of a pimple behind my right ear. I am normally able to squeeze them when they get out of control. This guy however is being a stinker and not budging. Even after hot compresses, dunking that ear for 1hour in the hot tub, etc.

It's hard to see, as you can imagine, and over the past couple of days, it got to a point where it's actually sore in the area all around, and a bit now down to my neck.

So, clinic time again! I got in telling them "I have a sore ear" (I didn't specify it was an EXTERNAL issue, I knew they would have told me to go to the ER). So I went in thinking the doctor would look, see the white head, I'd suck in a big breath and he'd squeeze the bejebus out of it...

With a smile he says "Oh, you have a cyst! Nothing to worry about, it may go away on it's own, but it's not infected terribly to worry about right now".

I have another CYST? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

Yes it's true. I guess my trying to get rid of what I imagined to be a pimple behind my ear, in fact, was me irritating the crap out of a soon to be cyst.

SIGH. Here we go again.

(I may smother the area in toothpaste though, at night... I know it works for draining pimples!).

You are now all welcome to point and laugh at me for yet another cyst.

Least the doctor was nice enough to prescribe some Tylenol 3. They go nicely with my Clonazepam.

Well darn! At least your skin is better from quitting smoking! Maybe the cists will calm down since you've quit?

I have moles, and my dermatologist said she can slice them off for $700 apiece. I'll buy a scalpel and do it myself thank you. She said it isn't covered by insurance.

Default Here's looking at you, kid

Twink cozies up to microphone:

*waits for piano intro*

You must remember this
A cyst is still a cyst
A sty is just a styeeeee
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by.

And when two fingers squeeze
They express a lot of cheese
On that you can rely...

*dodges rotten tomatoes*

$700 apiece? That seems a bit high.

Insurance is weird.

Unless the mole is basically cancerous here, you pay I believe... or you wait a darn long time to have one removed. Been there as well.

(And that's Canada)

Kay floats sensuously up onto the stage, all sultry in a gorgeous lowcut black velvet evening gown, set off by dangly emerald jewelry, and a stunning upswept hairdo...

she smiles graciously at Twink, who's draped across the grand piano in feather boa regalia, and joins in for the rest of the verses:

Clearasil and Noxema
Are never out of date
Pores packed full of sebum
Blackheads, we all hate

Come, give us a squeeze
This whitehead needs release
That no one can deny !!

Oh, it's still the same old story
Our fight to have clear pore-eys
A case of acne... WHY ??
We all will welcome clear skin
As time goes by ...

Seems you are "that way inclined", just like me, Laura. You'd think that problem would go away with age (I'm 49 now), but it hasn't.

Make sure to avoid dairy, at least that's what my doc says.

DON'T TOUCH THEM!!! Didn't I already tell you that?

Cherie

HAHA! I stopped touching it when the doctor said "Awww a cyst!!!" (kinda like coodling a baby, not kidding).

My ear feels all sticky with toothpaste behind it. Gonna reapply it tonight, but for now I need to jump in the shower and rinse off this crud.

I'd need Riverwind's special brownies, 4 NT'ers to hold my limbs from flailing and 1 brave NT'er with a knife to get this thing out.

There's NO WAY in heck I'm touching it. Toothpaste good, touching bad. It hurts like an SOB!
