DH and I hope and pray our new President will be able to be a good leader.

I am a lifelong Democrat but voted for McCain not because I liked him but out of fear of Obama and his "Muslimness" and his deep associations with radicals who want to destroy the USA.

You can't resign from the Mafia or being a Muslim; it is what it is.

I hope I am wrong and he will be the greatest President ever.

Everybody is ready for (and desperately needs) change! And the numbers don't lie.....

God bless him for taking on this challenge.......it sure won't be easy taking over and trying to fix someone else's bad decisions. But I think he's got what it takes to do just that.

As an older American (53) this is the first time an election win made me hopeful.

you need not fear, Janie.

Obama is a Christian, not a Muslim, his father is not a Muslim, and Obama was not raised to be a Muslim... those were untruths.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/muslim.asp

and as for associations with radicals, McCain had closer, more RECENT convicted-criminal pals... for example, his lifelong friend G. Gordon Liddy, who advised "head shots" for Federal Agents (not a smear or an urban legend) and McCain refused to reject or repudiate Liddy.

Liddy's connections to John McCain

In 1998 Liddy hosted a fundraiser at his house for John McCain's re-election campaign at which guests could have their pictures taken with McCain and Liddy. Over the years, Liddy, who has referred to McCain as "an old friend," has made at least four contributions totaling $5,000 to the senator's campaigns -- including $1,000 in 2008. When David Letterman asked McCain about his relationship with Liddy, McCain said, "I know Gordon Liddy. He paid his debt. He went to prison and paid his debt, as people do. I'm not in any way embarrassed to know Gordon Liddy."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G._Gordon_Liddy

August 26, 1994 - "Now if the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms comes to disarm you and they are bearing arms, resist them with arms. Go for a head shot; they're going to be wearing bulletproof vests." ... "They've got a big target on there, ATF. Don't shoot at that, because they've got a vest on underneath that. Head shots, head shots.... Kill the sons of b*tches."

now THAT's a terrorist America-hater, advising people to kill agents of the government.

I was a LOT more afraid of people like Liddy, than a college professor like Ayers:

Senator Obama strongly condemns the violent actions of the Weathermen group, as he does all acts of violence. But he was an eight-year-old child when Ayers and the Weathermen were active, and any attempt to connect Obama with events of almost forty years ago is ridiculous.

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-...onnection.html

now Janie, I love you, you know that, but it seems you might have gotten tricked into believing lies about Obama, and I hope the above fact-checking helps ease your fears.

Obama is NOT a muslim. He's a Christian. Fear not. If you doubt this go to his website and click the issues. Then scroll to religion and you'll read his views on religion. He is a Baptist.

He has been a Baptist his entire life, even though it was a tough position for his family while in Indonesia.

He is a good man and will do whatever he can to repair the damage caused to our country.

It will take a long time to perform the repairs and so we have to be patient...but it will get done.

I am so happy about the election results, not because a democrat is going to be the POTUS, but because it shows that anyone with character and quality can make it in the U.S.
