I can't believe this happened in my life. It makes me very proud to be an American. Good luck and God speed Mr. President.

Congrats and times they are a changing, I am going to repeat myself from two other threads, but I sure wish Dr. King was there tonight to see this... I wish president elect all the best and hope he is able to put things he talks about into reality. its one thing to be a good speaker and another to follow through.
peace

Yeah...congratulations.
Is it 2012 yet? (sorry, not trying to be political...much. I'll go hide under my bed for the next four years now) It actually doesnt really matter who's sitting in the big boy chair in the Oval Office, because it's Congress and the Senate that do a lot of the work. The president is just sort of a guide, or a manager. I dont expect things to change all that much. At least the election is over and I wont have to watch all those political commercials any more...at least until 2012. The commercials were driving me a lot more batty than either of the candidates were. Oh, and dont get me started on all the political phone calls and email spam we've been getting for the past few weeks. The phone calls from the Obama campaign were just as annoying as all the McCain spam I was getting in my inbox from the McCain campaign. (and trying to get the email spam to stop was a heck of a lot more difficult than getting the phone calls down to a dull roar.)

I think (as a Canadian) is truly wonderful that Obama won this election. I think it's a step in the right direction for the US (from my outsider point of view).

I'm excited about this new beginning for us. I cannot imagine anyone being negative about this...even if you didn't vote for him...because it's a ray of hope for America and everyone who calls themselves an American. Things will change big time and we will all get to reap the benefits of having someone in "the big boy chair" who cares what we think. Yea!!! McCain's concession speech was heartfelt and gracious. I hope all those who supported him will take a que from him in this, too.
Let's celebrate!!!
