Default Where the heck did my extra spoons wander off to?

Hopefully everyone understands the Spoon Theory reference there.

I think someone just stole most of my spoons. Today was (supposed to be) cleaning day. Our cleaning lady was supposed to be here around 1pm.

So, I helped my mom straighten up the upstairs some, and then I came downstairs to straighten out my bedroom. (I have no energy to do the rest of the basement) I picked up the junk that I'd dropped on the floor, and put stuff away so that the cleaning lady can vacuum the floor.

I put things away...I dragged all my plastic totes that hold my crochet and knitting and sewing projects into the spare room that we dont have the cleaning lady clean.

All this so that the cleaning lady can move around in my room and actually clean the floor and dust things like blinds and baseboards.

I usually do all this when the cleaning lady is still cleaning upstairs. She usually doesnt make it down to my room till after 3pm.

Thing is, that she hadnt even shown up yet at 3pm. My mom doesnt react well to change or to things that screw up her plans. She just made me call the cleaning lady to cancel cleaning for today.

I moved all my stuff into the other room and tired myself out for nothing now. I decided to vacuum my bedroom, (or at least half of it) since I had all the junk off the floor.

I think vacuuming was not a smart thing to do. My legs suddenly got all hot and really burning, my feet and legs feel like they dont want to do anything and I think they're considering a mutiny now.

Even my arms are tired and it's taking me forever to type this because I keep making mistakes.

I think I may have a small spoon deficit now...kind of like the stock market crashing. I want to go get my laptop from the spare room now, but just cant get up the energy to go roll it back into here.

I hope my parents werent planning on me driving them out to dinner. Moving from this chair is not looking all that promising right now.

Is this the MS exhaustion that I've been hearing about? I've been tired before, but never this quickly after doing normal everyday activities.

Yep, sounds like ya hit the wall and are having some muscle fatigue. There are some days I can do a lot, and there are some days that even getting dressed wears me out.

I've learned to kinda pay attention, since the wall moves and is never in the same place twice. Learned to pace, and take breaks as needed.

Hope ya feel better soon.

Please tell me this doesnt last long. I'm hungry, but the thought of climbing the stairs and then making something to eat, even if it is a glass of water and opening a package of cookies, sounds like an awful lot of work at the moment.

I have all sorts of junk on my bed, otherwise I'd be laying down right now. Good thing I just got a new computer chair that's almost as comfortable as a recliner.

I'm getting the insomnia back again at night. I wonder if there's a correlation between this intense tiredness now, and the insomnia?

Oh..ok..Next time, put them back where you found them...'k? (the spoon drawing didnt show up on the post, but I can see the "spoons" in the quoted part of the message since I hit "reply with quotes".

Last time I was this tired, I was recovering from Mononucleosis (circa February 1996)

I just had a nap in my computer chair (3rd one today) I'm seriously considering going to bed right now (it's almost 730pm) I just want to try to stay up to watch Boston Legal at 9pm. Maybe if I take a nap till then?

How are you today? Have you gotten any spoons back? I know exactly what you are going through. The exaustion was my main sx when I first got sick. I couldn't even pick up my arm without being out of breath, it was so heavy! I would go to work for 1/2 day, come home and sleep for 3 hrs, make dinner and go right back to bed for the night. And if you knew me before, I never sat down. I never took a nap. I was going from 5am till 11pm. So I knew there was something wrong.

I hope you are doing better today. Just don't push it. Listen to your body (easy for me to say) and rest if you need to.
