I just go and get them. I think maybe the first year I remember getting one, back in the mid-90's did I react with flu-like symptoms, but after that, it's a little bit of a sore arm, maybe a little sleepy the first night, but I'd rather be protected than not. And it's not just myself I consider....my kids, older/sick relatives, etc....

Just double checked the half dose shot thing. Still being clinically tested out. Hope it turns out to be an option in the future.

[F]Okay, this brings me to another question. If cognition is working, I seem to remember hearing that the flu shot only helps for one (?) type of flu; that there are several strains of it. Does this mean one needs to get a few shots to cover them all, or is there just one that deals with them all?
Sounds stupid I know, however when I decided not to take them, I simply didn't waste time or brain cells learning or remembering about it. Hence the reason I am asking the experts.... YOU. Thanks, Dave[/FONT]

As I understand, they try to "anticipate" the flu's that are most likely the most serious and troublesome, and they combine concoctions to cover off the "top 3" (or something to that effect ).
On the news (in Canada) this past Fall they said that whatever the combination was last year, it didn't pan out to cover off the important flu's. They said they were re-designing the shot for this winter though . . . Cherie
