Default Anyone else do gifts for pets?

I'm pretty sure they can't read, so it should be safe to talk about what we, er *Santa* got them for Christmas!

Pet shopping is my fave part of the holidays. You know they are gonna be thrilled no matter what you get them.

We hit Super Pets and snagged a bunch of deals. Gee, even sales at the pet store.

Rudy is getting one of those really long, skinny stuffed dogs, Ozzy is getting a crazy looking squeaky stuffed flea. I'll take a pic on xmas so you can see it, it's so funny.

I got millet spray and honey bar treats for the birds, plus a toy for each. Jake got a big wooden chain like a ladder. I'm going to hang one of his bells on it, cuz everything's better if it rings. Minnie is getting a round swing with little thingies on it to play with. And Jesse is not big on toys, but we got him one made of cocoanut with pink and yellow fluffy stuff. Even if he doesn't chew on it, he will enjoy it for decor.

Rudy and Ozzy don't get Christmas like Sophie did - she'd look for her presents every day after the tree went up. All these two do is try to get into the gifts once I leave them there.

I had to warn people, if they found a used ball in their present, it wasn't part of the present, it was Rudy playing.

The birds do get it though. Jake screams at feeding time and does everything in his power to get on my shoulder so I'll take him around the house and show him the xmas decor. He was dissappointed that we did not have the fiber optic tree up yet - we do now, so I'll have to show him.

But he is in love with the 3' LED penguin dh bought. Dh decided it should stay in the DR and Jake agrees. He even started bobbing, like he wanted a song.

Minnie has not been too into opening gifts. I always wrapped them but had to unwrap hers. I'll try her again this year because she usually wants what Jake has and she competes to do what he does. She will open them one day, I know it.

Jake loves it, ripping the paper (I only use white tissue and tie it shut w/ribbon, no tape).

It's a mess, but it's a lot of fun.

Oh yes, Santa always came for my pets. If it wasn't a catnip mouse or catnip for Turd, my cat, or a huge bone for Brandi (who in the pack order was always above my son--we could never break her of that), it was cool new fish food or now new tennis balls and little tiny (toy dog type) rawhides for my one Border Collie, dog treats for my dog cat Swiper, and little tiny biscuits for my other Border Collie Scout.

Scout's hard. He doesn't care about much of anything. But in the last couple of weeks he's started chewing on bones and actually playing with them. He's a rescue, so we're working on it. And he's really looked forward to the Natural Balance little biscuits. We're working on "give me your paw" which he got after about 5 minutes yesterday pretty much on a hit or miss basis. He's not dumb, just apathetic.

My other BC doesn't care if you get her food stuff, she just wants the tennis ball. They have to be the green ones. She is VERY finicky with them. She will grudgingly play with other colors but only if there is absolutely no other choice. I think it's in the smell.

The dog cat Swiper doesn't care as long as it's a dog treat or Greenies. But he'll eat just about anything. Problem is, I don't wan to encourage him. He'd be VERY happy if I got him an apple. Aside from trying to bite it, he'd use it as a produce toy.

My animals never figured out how to unwrap, Brain. My children did, but not the furry ones.

Catnip for the cats, bones for the dogs. Stoned cats are fun!

Awww, all of the items you have bought for your pets sound SO cute and I am sure they will love them!!

We always buy for our pets also. We have lots of pets so it can cost quite a lot of money sometimes but I love spoiling them all! This year, for our Springer Spaniel puppy, Jack, we got a stocking that has lots of dog toys and treats in it and also a new teddy bear! He loves teddy bears and carries them around in his mouth like they are his babies - it looks like he is trying to milk them at times also, it looks SO cute!!

For our African Grey Parrot, we are getting him something for in the cage. We usually get him seed bells or something but this year we will probably get him a new toy for the cage. He loves all of the toys, especially the ones with mirrors as he loves to sit there and look at himself lol.

I also have a Chameleon and we will probably get him some new rocks or leaves for in his vivarium. We have only had him since February and I love spoiling him rotten - he is so affection and sometimes it looks like he is smiling at you!!

For our hamster, we will probably get a new toy or something. I really want one of those run-around balls so that I can get her out of her cage more often and not worry about the dog getting her!!

For the Chinchilla, we are getting her a cosy hamoc so that she can go and sleep in it!! We have seen them advertised on TV and they look so cute and are supposed to be really good for the winter months as they keep them really warm.

You guessed it, our house is like a zoo - I think I might start charging people to come and look at all my pets lol . I have always been a sucker for animals, even since I was a baby - I see pets on the TV and in the pet stores and I always want to get them! I feel so bad if I can't adopt them!

Our Springer Spaniel, loves unwrapping all of the wrapping paper off of his presents! We have only had him one Christmas but last year, he loved it and spent hours chewing the paper! When I went to London onto their PT program, me and my mum went to Harrods and they had Doggy cakes and they were SO cute! We were going to get one for Jack's Birthday but I think they were about £300 or something!

Great topic - thanks for starting!

The cats always get a stocking. I have to put their wrapped little catnip toys in there otherwise they'll find them under the tree and rip into the packaging. They're so cute "opening" their gifts.....it's my favorite part of Christmas. Then, after they've worn themselves out with the "catnip high" they flake out for the rest of the day and sleep. What a life they have...........

HA HA I know what to get kitty!

I always do treats for all of my kids. The dog is getting a new bandana and some squeeky toys, and the hamster is getting new tubes and treats and the guinea pig is getting a new hiding spot for his cage and some treats.

Rocky is getting a water fountain. He'll also get a heaping serving of catnip on Christmas morning and maybe some fresh Q tips (his favorite toy.)

Our one cat got her gift last week. A few months supply of Iam's canned cat food ... great bargain at Target last week . It is her evening treat during the winter months....she stays outdoors on the porch...she hates being inside.

She is 16 years old and has never played with any toys. Now she will chase leaves blowing across the yard and she loves sleeping on the mini trampoline in the sunshine. We hang hummingbird feeders up high for her to watch.

Brain, your house sounds like fun on Christmas morning!

Oh, yes, always get the dogs a toy...
My golden retriever Sanford loves to open his present...usually a cheap stuffed toy...always destroys it within an hour...hence the word "cheap"...and we also get him a rawhide bone...
