Bravo for you, Char!!! You didn't give up. You just decided it was okay to be realistic and you knew your limits. Nothing wrong with that.

What would be wrong is overdoing it so that it affected everything else in your life. We want a healthy, happy Char, not one who is too pooped to post!

I keep thinking about you and your experience. My Dad used to say that the only people who never fail are the people who never do anything.

Now in quoting Dad, I'm not using the word "fail" as in "failure = something shameful". I'm using it as "didn't work out". Anybody who tries lots of things isn't going to score 100%. Some things aren't going to work out.

My Dad said that to me a LOT, because I tend to be the kind of person who is so afraid of failing that I'm more likely not to try anything. That's worse than trying and not meeting our own expectations.

I admire you for giving it a go. Now you know that you either have to approach the job a different way (like Av8rgirl said, maybe a stool?) or try a different job. Not hitting the bullseye every time doesn't make you a quitter. It makes you a tryer. (Is that a word? Well, it is now.)

Hey same as others said..hun....

I work on my feet...a hard job..and usually 8 hours at a time...no break..really...

but I am moving most times...McDs...in a Walmart....so I always look over by entrance at the greeter on duty...I COULD NEVER STAND that long,. I could love greeting and all...but to stand still would do my body in...moving about at work does my body in..

but really it is when I sit down after work and stay still that I hurt stiffen up and all...

you did wonderful....please dont feel funny as others said YoU listened to your body...hugsss,sarah
