Default That was nice!

I hope you all had a lovely Chistmas and are resting peacefully now.

My fave things were that I got to see all the people who mean so much to me - my kids, my darling granddaughter, my mom and sibs, etc. Everyone really liked what I got them this year - I made my mom a shawl and she was almost in tears, lol. My neice got a purse and she screamed.

Darling granddaughter had her Christmas pics taken, and ds gave me some. The tiniest one I put into my antique locket. The baby was freaking when she saw herself in Granny's necklace. "Granny loves the baby!"

And Rudy and Jake had fun ripping open their presents, too.

Ah, good times.

It sounds like you had a great Christmas filled with lots of love and happy memories that you will be able to treasure forever!! I am SO glad you had a good time - you deserve it after everything that you have been through!!

This Christmas was pretty hard for us as a family as it is the first Christmas without my grandad and we all miss him SO much!! Christmas just isn't the same without him ... he was always the one that would crack little jokes, buy little novelty gifts for everyone and he ALWAYS had to put the best decorations up lol.

I did get lots of lovely presents though. My mum and dad got me an Apple Iphone which I have wanted for absolutely ages but never been able to afford - I absolutely love it and I haven't put it down since I got it yesterday lol. I also got lots of lovely designer clothes and shoes that will be comfortable for my bad leg, books, jewellery, chocolate, hair tongs and so much more!! I have quite a lot of money off my grandma and Uncles so I am going to go and get something nice - I don't know what at the moment though because everything I wanted, I have got!!

We had a nice Christmas dinner. We didn't have Turkey this year as non of us really like it so we had Chicken which was really nice! For deserts we had a lovely chocolate cake that my mum made with cream - it was delicious!!

We also went to spend some time with my nanan to make sure she was OK. For me, Christmas is all about spending time with family so it was really nice seeing her. She was pretty upset and didn't talk much at all ... it's hit her really hard with it being the first Christmas without my grandad. We spent about 4 hours with her and my uncle is there to check on her also. She was thrilled with our Christmas presents - we got her some shoes and a book and also plan on getting her a vacuum cleaner later when she has picked one that she wants.

It was so much fun watching our Springer Spaniel Puppy open his Christmas presents yesterday. My mum had bought him some dog toys and wrapped them in wrapping paper and when we put his presents under the tree, he immediately knew which was is and started running around the house with it! He had actually opened his presents on Christmas eve because my mum couldn't get them off him - I think he had more fun with the wrapping paper than anything else lol! He has SO many toys that he doesn't know what to do with them all!

We are hoping to go to the Christmas Sales today to see if we can get anything - not sure what we want yet but we are going to take my nanan to see if we can get any bargains and it will also help get her out of the house for a bit!

I hope you all had a great Christmas filled with lots of love and that you all got everything you wished for and more! May 2009 be a great year for all of you!

I had a very nice and joyful Christmas day, too. All my Kids and grandkids, a few neighbors and Friends....what fun.. DD brought over, ham, scalloped potatoes and green bean casserole...yummmmmmmm...and I had cookies, buckeyes and bourbon balls.

Oh, and I received a new Cordless phone from DD...it has an extention phone for the bathroom. It never fails, right????

I hope all your Christmases were nice.

I spent Christmas alone. Kind of.

I was physically alone. No tree, no lights, no gift wrapped presents to open.

No turkey dinner with stuffing (well, I'd have eaten turkey, which my neighbor brought me some of today woot!, but the rest is no no on my diet).

The 'kind of' part of Christmas is that my boyfriend who's in Florida and I sent each other presents by mail. So we both waited until it was officially Christmas in both Florida and NB (I'm an hour ahead), and we opened our presents to one another on web cam.

I don't celebrate Christmas, so getting anything is generally unexpected for me. I got him presents because while I don't participate in the holiday myself, others around me do. So I did get him presents. Well he had my address from another time and he sent me entirely too much stuff (spoiled me). It was nice and put a smile on my face.

And my brother who I had not seen in years until my grandmother's memorial in May this year, sent me an Amazon electronic gift certificate. For entirely too much money lol. We hadn't exchanged gifts in years. I was kinda left feeling bad, because I'm the type to want to give in return of equal value, but my parents insisted that he does not expect anything in return, that's just him.

So it was a nice day. I did wake up too early though, stupid wind!!!

Ali, my father has been with The Lord now for 10 years. It does get better as the years go by but for the first couple of years my Mom was still kind of numb. Plus he died on December 7 so this season is really hard. He was that kind of man also. He loved people and loved to make them things and make sure everyone, especially the love of his life-my Mom was happy. He was a very specail man. I feel bad that my grand children will never actually know him but my daughter makes sure that they know of his love and what kind of a man he was. You sound like you have a wonderful, loving, caring and strong family relationship. that can be rare thses days.

We will have our Chritsmas Jan 3rd. we have had three Christmas miracles already. I have one brother who lives in Geogia who can't come up very often and they have a very estranged relationship with their 18 year old son. So my brother has been putting money in an envelope and when they reached $400 in it they knew that they could come. And they are bringing both their sons with them. Also my other brother has a son who recently got married and will be having a baby next May. They weren't going to be able to get here until most of the celebration was over. He has now found out that he is completely off next Saturday! Now my daughter and husband who are very involved in their chuirch and would have to leave early Saturday evening are off the hot plate as far as leaving before the others get here.

So our family will be complete! I will be exhausted, we have to find another table to put all the food on but it's OK. Love conquers all.

Ali - have fun with that phone! My nephew has one and they do look like a blast. I got a new mp3 player, the one that looks like a rock. Very cool, 'cept I can't get it to work.

I'll have to have the kids show me how.
