I could see it last night, almost looked like it had a lot more & bigger craters than I remembered.
kinda looked like it had land masses on it- like continents:confused:

similar to a white/grey version of looking at the earth from the satellite/outer space photos..

Skies are clear in Maine and the moon is rising! It is really beautiful! Glad we got a chance to see it!

I'm in Australia and have stumbled in here again ... :)

We have really treacherous water conditions here from this particular full moon. King tides and dangerous rips. Lots of warnings in our local media about it. It's amazing how the moon has such an effect on us all.

Jo, it looked that way when I saw it last night. It looked as if the darker bits were land masses rather than craters. Really dark they were and huge looking... a little as if we were looking down on the Earth.

"Some craters are practically microscopic, while others are quite large indeed. The largest is the South Pole-Aitken Basin, which has a diameter of about 2,500 km and drops 13 km deep." http://www.astronomyexpert.co.uk/MoonCraters.html

I had no idea they were that large.

Great pic on the zoom! thanks for those.

I felt well enough this morning to go for a quick drive down to check out the beaches. One of the buildings in town is built right on the water and there was all this water lying around the road and there is water rushing off the road into the underground carpark. I was there right on high tide at 9am. Now 9.29am
