I need to add some of these other worries to my worry list - HAHAHA because I already worry about some of them but forgot to list them.

Funny thing is, I USED to be a big time worrier, but after losing my husband - I don't worry as much -- now I "ponder" things.

Somebody mentioned "irrational" fear - that is a biggy for me !

I have an INCREDIBLY HUGE fear of "Granddaddy Longlegs" !!!!!   Those things scare me to death !!!

I know they are not actually spiders - but they LOOK like a spider - a big one and I know they can't hurt you unless you eat them - apparently they are poisonous but cannot bite people so you would have to eat them (I need to look that fact up - to make sure it really is a fact). BUT - they are FIERCE looking !!!

I am mortally terrified of all spiders and do WORRY about a spider getting near me !!! And I have had more than my share of spider bites here in TN but never feel them bite. They are SNEAKY !

Now that's unfair....You had to mention spiders.. The daddy long legs don't scare me but the centipedes do...eek!!! Some of them get pretty dang big and you haven't completely lost it, until you wake up to one in your sink or bathtub, when they come out for a drink.:eek::eek::eek:

I feel a nightmare coming on....Thanks Snoods...Not..:p

Cherie,

I really do have faith. Part of faith, however, in my mind, is realizing that logically things may not add up and that there is an argument for not believing. Its realizing that those arguments exist and still believing that shows you have faith. I'm not saying this describes you but some appear to believe that if you recognize any doubt or question God's existence that you lack faith. I often wonder if those who don't question His existence or acknowledge the arguments against Him really have faith as they have asked the question so how do they know the answer. Again, not saying thats you. Just saying that my acknowledgment of how it would suck if there were no God isn't evidence of my lack of faith.

I think when I meet him and we have a chat, God will readily admit that he didn't do the best job of eliminating our fears and doubts about His existence (wars, death, sickness, the Bush administration for 8 years, etc.).

Geez, see how it all comes down to politics? C'mon. Every Democrat questioned their faith at least briefly after "W" was elected and then shockingly re-elected. Did we all lack faith? Or was our faith shaken for a moment in time? Shaken not broken.

Cherie - Thanks! That was just too funny.

I have to say that after taking microbiology in nursing school and doing some independent study in micro at the college, I became more "aware" of the microbe world. Working in the hospital added to that.:p

Mind you though, I am not obsessive about. I never in a million years would have freaked about a bedspread in a hotel room. Being too clean though has many downfalls. In fact, I just read an article in Scientific America about overly clean/sterile environments and brain tumors.

I love reading Steven King. He has a way of tapping in to our primal fears and presenting them in a way that is just on the edge of reality. I read his book Dreamcatcher when I was working at the hospital. The book had a viral component to it. So, one day I was going down to the cafeteria to get something to eat for lunch. I turned the knob on the stairwell and there was something wet on it. I freaked because all I could think about was that book. LOL Needless to say, I lost my appetite and immediately went to wash my hands.

Like Judy and Sandy, catching something while at the hospital would be a big fear for me. As a hospital employee, you go through orientation. As part of this orientation, hand washing and the importance of such is taught. Additionally, every year infectious control employees go to each department to do a yearly training. It always, always amazed me how many employees would NOT wash their hands after using the restroom (yeah, you heard me right), sneezing, coughing, etc. It blew my mind.

I have a very private relationship with my maker and do not participate in (or personally agree with) organized religion. I live by high personal morals, but they are not based on anyone else’s interpretation, or social rules dictated by some man-made institution.

I don’t give any credit or blame to GOD for what man has done (or not done), and never look outside myself for evidence that he exists.

Based on my belief-system, I don’t have any preconceived notions of where we will go (and ONLY if we do “X”) . . . so there is plenty of room for fear of where I might end up. I do have complete faith that there is a much bigger picture then what I am able to fully appreciate though ...

I guess I just believe what will be will be ~ and is MEANT to be ~ even if some things are very hard to reckon with along the way.

(No offense intended to you or anyone else . . . just offering another way to contemplate your fear, strk.)

I'm wondering if people who worry a lot, want to stop? Do those worries cause you anxiety?

I HATE worrying, so try every technique possible to stop . . . but maybe some people are ok living with it?

Really? All 150,000,000 of them?

Cherie

Or do they worry about not worrying anymore? LOL

I have a niece, whom I am convinced, is not happy unless she has something to worry about - some major crisis in her life - this total drama queen.

Drives me crazy - I can only take her in small incriments of time. Funny thing is, when she doesn't have a crisis - I don't hear from her, but those times are rare and many of the things she worries over (in my opinion) are "manufactured" worries just for the sake of worry.

Kind of a pathetic existence in my opinion but some people need this in their lives for some reason - perhaps attention....

Right now i'm worried about how I'm gonna get to the bathroom....my scooter batteries just died....:Help:
