That was 3 astericks. With 4 how could you guess at the word I meant?

I looked up the testing for bladder cancer, and it says that urine tests will reveal cancer cells:

If he has concluded that it is "probably cancer", that would seem to indicate that he has some reason to BELIEVE that it is, wouldn't it? If he doesn't have reason to strongly suspect cancer, he definitely should NOT have said "probably".

It would "seem" to me that he is leaning towards cancer as being the cause, but it is wonderful to know the survival rate is so high. It sounds like if someone is going to have cancer, this is one of the better one's to get.

I hope the doc is wrong, but if he is that convinced, it probably doesn't matter if he tells you now or in a week from now.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your husband.

Cherie

Heart

I am so very sorry to hear about everything that you and your husband are going through right now and hope you get some answers real soon!

I hope and pray that it isn't Cancer but if it is, I am SO happy to hear that the survival rate is so high and please keep comfort from that. My cousion had liver cancer which was diagnosed when she was 3 years old and she had a Liver Transplant and is a lot better now - in fact, you wouldn't know there was anything up with her!!! Technology as improved a lot over the past few years and if it is Cancer, then i'm sure it will be easily treatable!

Please keep us all updated when you can and I am praying for you all and hoping that your DH has a very smooth recovery!!

Love,
Alison.

Thanks Cherie for the website, I'll look it up. And that's true what you said about whether we hear it now or next week, if it's true it doesn't matter when we heard it. I didn't think of it that way until you mentioned it.

Thanks everyone for the positive thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate it.

i'm praying for you and your dh that whatever the problem is it will be taken care of effectively and swiftly.

does your dh happen to smoke?
smoking has been linked to bladder cancer.

you are right. once you hear those words you can't think of anything else no matter how positive you try to be.
that being said, please do your best to hang in there.
i'm glad your bil is coming for a visit.

I'm glad you didn't take that the wrong way, ma. You are a trooper!

I was told I had cancer when I was 3 months pregnant with my first daughter. I guess THEY figured I had a choice at that point . . . but for me there was no choice; I had a 3 month old child growing inside of me. I waited till she was born, and was treated at that point. Risky ... yes, and scary for 6+ months, but I would always rather they are straight-up with me.

I hate worrying unnecessarily, and I know my doc will always tell me when it's time to be concerned. The rest of the time, I don't worry at all about my health. That's the way I like it, personally.

It sounds like DH's doctors are being as proactive as possible, and he is in good hands.

(((ma + DH)))

Hey Maryann! I don't know what happened to my post, so here goes again. I am sorry to hear about your DH's ordeal, esp w/the insincerity of the Dr. Having just gone through an ER nightmare w/MIL, I understand how you feel.

I just wanted to tell you to remain positive, however hard that may be, as my Dear Father was DX'd at age 60 w/Bladder CA and lived many, many yrs after that. He had the ca removed and never ended up having any other tx, as the Specialist said most bladder ca's are flat and easily removed, w/a high rate of success.

I also remember my Gr Aunt having sx's like your DH and hers turned out to be a kidney stone. So, just know that prayers are going up for both your DH and you. Please let us know how things are going, OK? take care and sending hugs.
