The tile job is almost finished. The guy left a little while ago. He's coming back to do the grout tomorrow.

It looks so good! He did make a small mess, but compared to the drifts of sawdust this is nowhere near as bad.

There was a bunch of leftover marble tile, so I've got 4 whole pieces that we're saving if we ever have to repair anything, and the guy had a ton of little pieces left over. So he cut some of the larger pieces into squares for me. I'm going to buy felt squares with adhesive backing on them and I'm going to make coasters out of the squares.

There were some nice rectangle shaped pieces left over, so I'm going to use those to decorate the top of the mantel somehow.

Once the tile is grouted, they're going to send over a carpet guy to fix the carpet that's gotten messed up when they cut it to fit the fireplace in.

I cant wait to see this finished. The tile looks GREAT now. I was so impressed with the tile guy. He was basically cleaning everything up as he went along, instead of making a huge mess and waiting till he was about to leave to clean. I dont think he'll be here long tomorrow once he gets the grout done.

I cant wait till we can turn it on and actually use it. Of course, this weekend, it's supposed to be warmer than it has been. Naturally yesterday it was so cold out, and the back door was open so much that it got really cold in the basement...it didnt warm up again till this morning.

I like this tile so much that I'd love to replace the pink ceramic tile that's on the fireplace upstairs with this stuff. (seriously considering it...I'm going to suggest it to my dad in a minute)
