My Ozzie (a big old mutt- the best IMHO) is from a pound. Is that A RESCUE? Is part collie and someone had cut his big sweeping tail off!!!!

I don't have words of wisdom on names but I can tell you how we choose names. Jim is a huge Bogart fan. He has named all of his animals after one of his movies, name and/or supporting actors. For example, we've had Cassie, Bogart, Maltese, Rick and Bergie (after Ingrid Bergman). We still have some names left to give out to future animals but for now we only have Bergie and Rick. I told him when we're done with Bogart we must move to my favorite movie Gone With the Wind. I love the name Rhett and Scarlett. hahaha

Good luck with whatever decision you make buying, adopting and naming your new fur baby.

I can't think of any suitable names right now, but I highly recommend getting the rescue Lab. My lab is chocolate and he's named Samson. I just love labs! Congrats to you!

Hmmm, lemmesee ...

The word "Blog" comes from combining Web+Log.

Hunter was a black lab.

Blab??? :D

Congratulations on being a Dogfather!

My favourites names for your new pup are Fisher or River, but here's some more I like:

Bandit
Banjo
Blitz
Digger
Fargo
Hawkeye
Jester
Legion
Phantom
Rascal
Scooter
Trapper

Good luck in choosing the best dog for you. :)

BTW: DH thinks you should call him Corky!

OK, who here agrees with me that Twink JUST figured out that is where they came up with "Blog"? I'm guessing she never knew and it bugged her so she googled it this morning and is SO proud of herself...ha ha.

I thank everyone for their suggestions but am disappointed with so many views and so few replies, come on people, we have a mission to do, we need more names.

After that I get to go and decide if I want the other one, and take him home. His dogs are $600.00 each. Well worth the money with the champion lines all that.

2) Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue has an open house adopt-a-thon Saturday morning at a neighborhood near my home. They have (among many others) an 18 month old yellow lab that will be there. The price of their adoption is $350.00

This is very exciting! As for names I like Action Jackson.

Please consider adopting a rescue dog. Not only will you save a couple of hundred dollars, having champion lines isn't worth a penny unless you want to show or breed your dog and even then there is no sure thing. Imo with all the wonderful homeless dogs purebred and mutts in this world despite my love of purebred dogs I am no longer a fan of breeding.

Best of luck and please keep us posted. This pooch is getting a wonderful forever home.

LOL. Earl the number of views just means we keep coming back to see if you have chosen a name. One person checking can rack up the numbers.
