Angry I can't believe this!! (kinda long)

Today something happened to make me so thankful I just have some minor symptoms (MS).

I was walking around the corner from my car to the Doctors office building when I noticed an older woman struggling to get her wheelchair out of her car.

There were several people standing outside and inside the building watching her struggle.

I walked over to her and asked if she needed help and there were tears in her eyes as she smiled and said "yes please".

I got the chair out of the car and unfolded it for her. She then reached in the car for her portable oxygen tank and put it on the back of the chair.

She then hopped around and sat in the chair and she only had one leg!

I was so furious with the audience who never offered to help her and unleashed on them when I got in the building!!

I didn't see her when I came out and her car was not there. I HOPE she got someone to help her. How can people be so uncaring??

Thumbs up

I'm glad you chose to help. I'm surprised that others didn't. We sometimes live in times of "don't get involved".

But I'm glad you did. And so is the lady.

Good for you!!

Niko

Thanks for helping the lady, Janie. That was sweet. I don't know why some people choose not to help......it's hard to determine who's capable and who's not. I look capable of doing most things.....but I'm not.....so I've had to learn not to make knee-jerk judgments of others who look as though they should have stepped in to help. That's been hard since I'd probably try to help anyone who needed it even if I wasn't entirely capable. The people who were watching could have at least tried to find help if they weren't able to offer it themselves. I always feel like "do unto others" should be the rule we live by but unfortunately it seems like that's not the norm anymore.

You were her guardian angel today!

Awwww, Janie. You were the angel that lady was praying for! I'm so glad you helped her. Someday it will come back to you.

Janie it was the right time and place for you to be
the guardian angle for this lady.

Just know that this good deed will come around.

It is a very sad world that we are living in today. Everyone seems
to look the other way.

Heart

What a lovely kind and caring thing you did for that lady Janie - it was SO lucky that you were there otherwise, who knows what would have happened to the poor women!!

I'm not sure either why people can be so rude and disrespectful, especially to someone that is so obviously disabled!! It is just SO cruel and I certainly wouldn't do that to someone as I KNOW how much it hurts when there is no one there to help you and you are struggeling and in pain!! I think that for some people though, they have a hard time "accepting" other peoples illnesses and they aren't sure on how to react or what to do etc - that still doesn't excuse though why they can be so darn right rude and nasty because THEY wouldn't like it if they were in that situation!!

I have been brought up to respect everyone whether they are fully-abled bodied or disabled and never to treat anyone differently and to help people that are struggeling ... my nanan had MS and I have RSD so I have learnt a lot in the past 14 years or so and it has made me realise not to take anything for granted!!

There is nothing worse than when you are out in public and people see you in a wheelchair or on crutches, using a cane etc and they don't even offer to open a door for you - that REALLY annoys me and stresses me out so much that sometimes, I don't even want to go out in public!! I just can't believe that people can be so rude an ignorant - I honestly think though that people don't realise how bad it is to be disabled and how frustrating it can be ... they will only know if/when they are ill and sometimes, I wish that I could give them what I have so that they can see what I go through and how hard it is - maybe that way they will start to be more respectful towards others!!

I am SO glad that you were there and what a sweet thing you did for that lady - I am sure she was very grateful!

I am really a mean, vindictive, nasty, crabby old lady but I really can't stand people who just stand around and let another person struggle.

You all would have done the same thing....except for yelling at the lazy bum creeps I guess..

Well; maybe a couple of you would have; you know who you are.

My motto is "do something nice for someone every day and get it out of the way early so I can be myself the rest of the day!!"

Works for me.
