Such sad news Yabbit.

I'm not a drinker. Rarely do hubby and I even have a glass of wine. Just not our thing. It's probably been 10 years since we bought a drink while out to eat. He bought me one. He was driving. Belimi.

My X and his family, big time drinkers. I hated it. Family parties and the "adults" would be drinking infront of the kids, then drive home.

My X buys alcohol for my son and his friends. ****** me off like you can't imagine. It's put a huge strain on my relationship with my son. He's only 19. Drinking age here is 21.

Char, I'm so sorry to hear this. Too many kids' lives end like that.

Curious, I think that's why alcoholism skips a generation usually. If you watch somebody drink stupid, you tend not to want to be like them. Every kid should know a drunk. But also, every kid should know how to drink, especially before they leave home where other kids are going to try to teach them.

Very few kids just never want to see what it's all about, and I'd rather mine got their info from me than some goofy kid.

DD is doing better, thank you for asking Sally! Some of the boys are having a hard time still but that is to be expected. His body had to go to the Medical Examiner for testing so the funeral has been put off for a few days.

The police have stepped in also so it could get messy before it is over.

Just read your post Char. I am so so sorry to hear this.
It does seem that this is happening to many times in this lifetime.

My prayers will be for your DD and friends and families.

So happy to hear that your DD has taken the advice of life that
you have thought her.

May God send his healing powers to all.

Jappy

After just reading this, I'm so sorry another beautiful life has been lost for no good reason. Why is it that so many young people, even those who have heard and should know better, think nothing bad will ever happen to them?? Guess it's just immaturity. My prayers will be with your DD and all those involved. I breathed a sigh of relief when my "kids" got through that stage, but now have to keep praying like crazy for the grandkids!!!

I hope things have gotten a little better for all.
