Default We're going on Vacation!!!
Yay!! We are finally going on Vacation!!! We haven't been on a break since I got RSD so I am really looking forward to it, however I am a little scared about flying as i'm not sure how my leg will react to it and I am scared of heights!!

Me, my mum and my dad are going to Las Vegas on the 1st March. We are just going for 5 days (fly home on the 5th) but i'm really looking forward to it. We have been to Vegas before and I absolutely loved it and we said we would always go back but hadn't got the chance until now!!

My mum booked us into the Sratosphere hotel - the rooms were really cheap and it is only costing £700 for the 3 of us and that includes the hotel!!

I was just wondering whether anyone has been to Vegas before and if so, is there anywhere you would recommend we go? My mum wants to go to the Grand Canyon on an helicopter but i'm not sure - as anyone done that, if so, how was it?

I promise i'll post plenty of pics for you all to see when we go!

Good for you, Ali ! I haven't been to Vegas. Not sure what there is to do if you don't gamble, lol. Have a great trip!

Lol, my mum and dad don't gamble at all either. When we went in October 2006, we thought there was a lot to do ... we went to the Wax Work Museum, into all of the hotels and to see the tigers etc, on the rides and of course - shopping lol.

Wow! That's awesome, Ali, you'll have a grand time. Vegas is fun even if you never gamble a cent.

Since it's a long flight over the pond, you might want to consider taking some sleep meds at take-off and just resting the whole way. Talk to your mom first, though, make sure it's okay.

You will love anything you do at or near the Grand Canyon, it is an amazing wonder to behold. Don't fear the helicopter, it's worth it!

Now I am thinking GTG in Vegas, baby!!!!

Hooray for you Ali!! We flew into Vegas at night and it was like a fireball all lit up, just gorgeous. I'm not much for heights, so won't comment on the copter ride over the Gr Canyon, but I do like to fly.

I loved Freemont Street w/all the bright lights and the enclosed sky show. The dancing fountains are beautiful too. Now, we won't talk about whether I liked the casino's or not, as I'm still trying to peel the big L off of my forehead.

Look forward to your trip and count down the days, Ali dear! You deserve a vacation.

YAY that sounds like fun!

We might actually be there that weekend also! Its the weekend of the Nascar race and we went last year.

Definiately go see the hoover Dam and i think a ehlo ride to the canyon would be a blast, best way to see it is feom the air.

Have fun! We've never been there but my mom went years ago and Jim's aunt lives there in Henderson NV. She loves it!

Thank you all so much for the ideas and suggestions - I really appreciate them and am sat here with note-pads keeping notes of where we should go so that I don't forget LOL.

There is so much to see and do in Vegas, I honestly think you would need a whole month if not more to see it all lol. We didn't go to Hoover Damn last time so am going to mention that to my mum and see what she says - I think she was talking about going the first time we went but i'm not sure. I'd love to go to Crand Canyon - bit scared about the helicopter but i'm sure i'd survive!! My mum saw on the Grand Canyon website a glass "walkway" over the Crand Canyon and she wanted to go on it but that is something I wouldn't be able to do lol.

I definitely want to go up the Eithel tower this time as we didn't get up it last time. Also on the TV, my mum saw a huge chocolate factory or something in Vegas that looked great so that is somewhere we would love to go also - I absolutely love chocolate lol.

Would love to have a GTG in Vegas so if any of you live near there, please let us know - my mum and me have always wanted to meet up with some of you!

Thanks again for the ideas - I really appreciate them and will definitely take lots of pics for you all!
