Glad your home Cheryl. If you don't mind, where did you stay? You know Jim and I are going next year so I need details. lol

We stayed at the Hilton Washington on Connecticut Avenue. I would say it was a bit pricey.

I suggest that you go on one of the travel websites and check out hotel rates. They change daily. Since Jim is in a wheelchair, make sure you ask about accessibility. Not all facilities are equal. That's one thing that is taken into consideration when the NMSS books this conference each year. There are many people that attend who are in wheelchairs so accessibility is an issue and must be addressed, not only for hotels but nearby restaurants and transportation to and from the airport and Capitol Hill.

As far as information about what to see and do, there is a wealth of things to do. You can stay in DC for a month and still not see and do everything. Don't even consider driving in the DC area. You will waste a lot of time. Take a shuttle service and have them drop you off near a location and go from there. Plan your day carefully.
