Default I just learned something important.

Always floss after eating popcorn!!!

Had a toothache after all that dental work last month. Thought something was wrong with my tooth. Went back to the dentist this morning (actually finally got to meet the other dentist in the office...the husband of my dentist) and he asked if I had eaten any popcorn. (why yes, now that you mention it) I told him I had some last week when this pain started.

So, he got out the water squirter thingie, and the pointy scrapy thingie and cleaned out inbetween where the tooth was hurting. Said there was some popcorn in there and what looked like some debris (maybe an actual piece of the old filling he thought) from when I had my teeth worked on last month. (or just more popcorn) and the pain is all gone now.

And, even more important than the pain being gone, he didnt charge me for the visit! Whoohoo!!!

So, even tho popcorn is a tasty treat (especially the Orville Redenbacher's Salt & Cracked Pepper popcorn! Mmm!), I have to remember now to floss and make sure it's not hiding anywhere in my teeth when I'm done.

I'm just glad it's not anything horrible. I was all worried I was going to have to have more dental work.

I think I'll go buy some floss now...and brush my teeth some more. Yay! no more dental work till I get the last of my fillings fixed and replaced this summer!

I hate flossing, but I think I'll get over that just so I can enjoy popcorn some more. Either that or buy Jelly Belly's popcorn flavored jelly beans. (Oooo! I'm hungry for Jelly Bellies now! Good thing I got some for Easter!)

Thumbs down

I've had that happen twice in the past few months and I had to have the dentist do his thing. The last time a week or so ago, I actually gashed my gum by the tooth. I am now done with popcorn. I've had enough of that kind of fun And I love popcorn but--

So I am now eating hull less popcorn. Yes, it's not like the real thing but at least it almost melts in my mouth and I don't have to worry about hulls. And I have always brushed and flossed and rinsed, every time I eat meals too, but man when you still get those hulls and cannot get them out after eating popcorn, it just isn't worth it anymore. At least not for me.

I have to be really careful to floss, and rinse like crazy after popcorn. LOVE the stuff, but it hangs around and causes trouble if you dont get rid of the stuff.

That's why I always eat popcorn the days before a dental appointment. Then they can clean it out! LOL

That's a good idea! I think I'll save the last couple of bags of the Salt & Cracked Pepper popcorn for the few days before my teeth cleaning.

If I can find a store that sells Jelly Belly jellybeans that you can choose your flavors, and if they have it, I can get the popcorn flavored jelly beans. That's my favorite flavor of the Jelly Bellies. It's almost better than real popcorn!

I've been picking the popcorn flavored ones out of the jelly beans my dad got for Easter. That bag was low on the popcorn flavored ones, darnit!.

I'm getting the floss that my dentist told me about a few months ago. It's for sensitive teeth and is called "Silk", I think. I never floss (because it's kinda gross and when my parents do it, I find their used floss all over the house...eww!) but I guess I'll have to get some for the next time I have the urge to eat popcorn.

Oh man, I floss every time I eat popcorn for this very reason. Glad it wasn't something worse!

I'm not very close to a Cracker Barrel. There's one on the other side of town, but it's not in a good area and I dont like driving the interstate to get there.

But this is good to know if I get over there with my boyfriend sometime. I'll make sure to take extra money so I can get 50 pounds of popcorn Jelly Belly's.

I wonder if the mall still has the candy store. (havent been to the mall in a few years) They had Jelly Belly's there...overpriced, but they had them.

They sell them in one pound packages for 8.00 here. I ordered Buttered popcorn, licorice, and cafe latte.
