Default The Batdanna Rides again!

Wish me luck! Tomorrow is the 25th annual BP MS150 from Houston to Austin and yours truly lost his mind last year and signed up for it. I have ridden about 500 miles outdoors and another 500 or so indoors on spin bikes since January and tomorrow morning I will suit up and head out.

It looks like we are going to get the double whammy...heavy rain is predicted for tomorrow...and Sunday we will be fighting a 5-15mph headwind. On the bright side, we will have a tailwind for the 100 miles tomorrow while we are getting rained on, and only have to do about 65 miles in the headwind.

I will be breaking out the Batdanna for the ride again and hope that the force field y'all impregnated that bandanna with will keep my dry and warm. Thanks to all of y'all for being my motivation to ride!

Well the inspiration to many is starting to get a little worried...the area we will be riding through tomorrow has already received 6-9 inches of rain since this morning and there are several more pulses of storms on the way (http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?r...101111&loop=no). Anybody got some spare pontoons I can strap to my bike and a chain driven propeller?

Will they cancel the ride if the weather is bad?

My understanding is that they will cancel it or postpone the start if there is a high likelihood of severe weather like hail/dangerous lightning/tornados. If it is just raining hard, the ride will go on. I don't mind riding in the rain, but we do ride some smaller roads, and if it keeps raining, I am worrying about some of those flooding. It is supposed to let up at some point tonight and then start up again tomorrow afternoon sometime, so hopefully we can get the ride started in good weather and finish as much as possible before it kicks off again tomorrow.
