Smile 5 Things that Make you Happy Using your 5 Senses

These are a few of my favorite things:

1. The sound of birds chirping

2. The taste of fresh strawberries and cream

3. The soft touch of cute lil grandkids who tug your finger cuz they can't tell you what they want.

4. The sight of a well kept yard with lots of flowers

5. The subtle fragrance of sagebrush after it rains

Okay, your turn. Use your five senses:
  • Sight
  • Sound
  • Touch
  • Taste
  • Smell

The sight of purple Wisteria growing in bunches against a green backdrop of trees.

The sound of birds just before dawn.

The feel of soft fur as I hold my cat and he buries his head in my neck.

The taste of cold, sweet watermelon on a hot summer day.

The smell of freshly brewed coffee.....anytime of the year!

seeing the many variations of colors in the clouds- they're not just grey!

the sound of my pond's waterfall

I like to ruffle my hubby's hair right after fresh hair cut and shampoo - short type crew cut

taste is a tough one.. so many things taste so good...
argggh I can't choose just one. a perfect cup of coffee, my homemade pizza's or breads, my homemade stir fry's...

the smell of the above foods
and the really fresh air after a spring rainstorm...

The sight of my newborn's first smile

The smell of really old books

The feel of warm sand between my toes

The sound of banjos, dulcimers, fiddles and acoustic guitars

The taste of fresh, cold water

The colors of, and the way yarn feels when you work with it. (either crochet or knitting...I prefer crochet) When I had optic neuritis, crocheting was a bit depressing, because the colors didnt look right. When I went to the yarn store, a lot of times I had to ask people if colors went together, because I couldnt tell sometimes....especially the color green. (green is my favorite color. I really missed green when my color vision was fubar)

The smell of chocolate....or the smell of coffee (hate the taste, love the smell of fresh, unbrewed coffee grounds tho...especially hazelnut) I also enjoy the smell of apples and cinnamon. I like the smell of roses even tho I'm allergic.

I also liked the smell of my dog TinyMonsters. It was comforting having a stinky dog around. Made me know that he was there. I miss that. (well, except for when he was a bit gassy...that could make paint melt off the walls. If you were right next to him when he let one loose, you could almost taste it...ewwwww!!!) I still have his brush with some hair in the bristles. I keep it in a ziploc and sometimes I'll open the bag to sniff the brush. (miss that stinky dog, and I just made myself cry, darnit!)

The sound of any kind of music. I love American Indian flute music playing softly, but I also love hard rock playing extremely loudly.

and now that my boyfriend helped my dad by hooking up a new HD cable box to our projection tv (my Tivo on it died, got a cable box to replace it) I love the way HD tv looks (didnt know that tv was capable of HD) This time two years ago, it wouldnt have mattered to me what HD tv looks like. (I was still recovering from ON then)

I love the taste of chocolate of course, the taste of baked potatoes with butter and salt, the taste of Mexican food...and the taste of Greek food (especially Greek foods!) Hate Indian food (from the country of India. Love American Indian food tho.)

I love the taste of chocolate and orange pop mixed together. (try eating a Hershey bar and Orange Crush together)

As for touch, I love the way a crochet project feels as I'm working on it. Love the way the stitches feel in my hands.

I love the way it feels when my boyfriend puts his hand on my back at the movies. (that's got to be one of the neatest sensations...)

I love the way it feels when sitting outside and there's a light breeze blowing.

Hate it when the wind is really strong and starts blowing my hair into my face.

I like the way my boyfriend's hair feels when I put my hand on his head. (he usually wears his hair as a buzz cut, but sometimes he totally shaves his head in the summer...feels like stiff velvet...kind of neat feeling)

Default I think DM and I were sperated at birth. lol

The sight of happiness on my loved ones faces

The sound of laughter and giggles

That simple touch to let you know someone cares.

Nothing tastes better than that first cup of coffee.

The smell of lilacs in my backyard. Love them so much I have two!

Tough, but I'l try to narrow it down.

I was recently in the Finger Lakes area of NY, and all the subtle colors of the not-yet blooming trees on the mountains blew me away. I was expecting gray, but I got lavendar, burgundy, red, dark green, and deep purple. It actually made me cry.

The smell of coffee and my husband's cologne (doesn't matter which one he's wearing) are my favorites, and they are both comforting to me.

The sounds of birds in the morning before the sun rises, and the sound of my husband's car pulling in the driveway at night...my heart still skips a beat when I hear that.

I love the taste of a great meal I've cooked myself with a great glass of wine.

And the feeling of getting into bed with clean, great smelling sheets when I know I can sleep in.

LOL, Twink! I read the title of the thread and thought you wanted us to list 5 things that make us happy that we use all 5 senses for. UGH! The closest that I could come up with is gardening but I don't use my sense of taste with gardening. I don't eat dirt. . . .well, most the time.

OK 5 things . . .

1. Sight - Seeing my DDs, DBF, and the rest of my family and friends.

2. Hearing - Hearing the laughter and chattering going on when my family gets together.

3. Touch - Being hugged by my loved ones. Touching that soil. Touching clay, dough, etc. Such a great feeling.

4. Taste - Sweets. I'm a sweets person and love everything sweet from fruit to candy.

5. Smell - Smelling flowers. Chocolate as it is being baked (even though I don't eat it).

Sight -- staring at the ocean. I can do that for hours.

Sound -- the sound of my niece Anya's giggle

Touch - the feel of freshly laundered sheets

Taste -- pizza from Bruno's pizza in my hometown. I always make sure that I get some when I go home.

Smell -- fresh baked bread

Tricia, you do not eat chocolate?
