Default I forgot how much heat drains me

I have survived a long hard winter here in the back woods of NH. snow hip deep, snow mobile parking for the grocery stores, and restaurants is common here. The empty towns, and the non existant lines in the grocery stores, and social places are great, but you reach a point of longing for the warm sun on your face, and want to step outside without a 20 minute dressing routine that includes wrapping a scarf around your face so your nose doesnt freeze off. Be careful what you wish for.

The warmth is back, with a vengence. It was 86 here yesterday. I took a walk in the early morning, before the heat had a chance to kick off. My son arrived with his bubbly g/f and was raring to go out to go cart racers, or mini golf, or an ice cream or watch a ball game...nope! not me! I missed out on the day, and stayed in the cooler house.

Got up late today, and by the time i got out to walk it was already quite warm out. I walked half my normal route, and was drenched in sweat, and completely exhausted by the time I got back to the house. My mind is drained of any function, and I feel like a jelly fish upon the shore. Just poke me with a stick, and walk on by me.

I miss being able to play in the sun, on the beach, watch a game, or simply hang out with buddies on a warm day. I have found myself hidden in my house screaming at the hubby to get the AC out of the closet.

How sad is this? I miss my life.

There has to be a place where the weather is 70-80 year round. There just has to be.

We had 87 up here in the "north country". Ugh. I tried not to be a wet blanket on the "Let's get out the grill" people, but I was glad when it was over.

I had to leave church before the worship service because it was 82 in the sanctuary (don't ask why) and I just couldn't do it. Everything was getting weird.

Back in November I said to Bob, "It's going to be a long winter." Yesterday I said, "It's going to be a long summer." Some people (me) just aren't ever happy.

Yeah, I also have my own fears of summer because 5 of the 6 exacerbations have been due to heat of spring and summer.

I have had a problem being out in the heat since I was 16 years old - it sucks. I would lay out in the sun for 5 minutes and be so tired I would have to lay down and sleep. Then one day I felt like taking a cool shower after this happened. That shower made such a difference in how I felt, it was amazing. When I was dx'd I immediately remembered what I experenced with the heat starting at 16.

I still get out in the heat but not without alot of misgivings. I just refuse to stop my life because of the heat. I love to head for the mountains when the temp rises

My mind has been jello all day. My brain refuses to function. the DH has done a great job of getting the house cool, and calm, but that walk just knocked the wind out of my sails. I had reached a point of being productive, and was proud of myself for my energy lately. It looks like thats a thing of the past. I simply am not able to get out of my own way.

I wish I could live in Alaska in the summer, and NC in the winter. wouldnt that be a kick?

I am not looking forward to another summer of hiding in the house, while the rest of the world dances in the sun, grills, plays in the sand, and surf, and giggles playing chase.

MS SUCKS in the summer!

I think there's someplace around San Diego, CA that meets those requirements. Not too hot, not too cold. But it's no secret: there are thousands of houses there!

I'm lucky in that I'm not so affected by the heat. Good thing, cuz it sure gets hot in the desert of central Utah where I live.

Sorry, Dejibo, that you're missing out on so much fun stuff with the Fam. Have you tried one of those cooling vests to see if that helps?

San Diego....my Father lived there for while and loved it. He only moved back because he was Ill. The temps are usually in the 60s/70s, but....there is still humidity..

It was in the high 80's here the other day I hate heat. There wasn't much humidity either. I like it around 68 - 72 degrees That would be perfect.

When it's below zero, I don't tolerate that very well anymore either. But I think the heat is worse. Just zaps you. It certainly isn't like it used to be
