Default My New Eyes

Two weeks ago, I had cataract surgery and a long-vision lens implanted in my left eye. That gave me 20/20 vision.

This morning, I had surgery on my right eye, with a near-vision lens implanted after that cataract was removed. My vision is totally blurry in my right eye, so I'm typing with just one eye open. This should clear up in two days. So far, no pain whatsoever.

Bioptic, I believe is what they call this. I keep calling them my new eyes. Hopefully, glasses will be a thing of the past!

I'll let you know in a couple of days if it worked.

Maryann! I hope your "new eyes" heal quickly and give you the perfect vision you need. I plan to share your story with my mom. She is 71 and cataracts are becoming a problem for her. She's been chicken about surgery.

OK everyone behave, Momma's got a new set of eyes watching us!

Hi Maryann,

So glad to hear that your vision is good at the moment and that it has improved from the surgery!!!

I really hope that you have a very fast recovery and that your eye sight continues to improve!!

You're in my thoughts and prayers. Please take it easy and don't overdo things!!

Thanks so much for all the well-wishes, everyone.

I went in for my post-op visit this morning, only to discover that I have 20/20 vision in my right eye also!! Even though my pupil was still a little dilated, I could read the bottom line on the wall chart and the smallest line on the card.

However, the pressure was way high at 44, so I was given a sample bottle of a pressure-lowering drop to use until my appt next Thursday. Doc said it was nothing to worry about, that it happens sometimes after this surgery, so I'm not going to worry.

I'm taking it easy (thanks, Ali) and only doing things like reading and computing in short intervals.

This is truly fantastic!! I am so very happy!!
