The weather this morning is pouring rain. I can't believe it

So upset was hoping that it would also be a beautiful day today
with the sun and warm temps.

I guess my DS will have a bar-b-que inside. I was going to take
Sage with me. But now I guess I will leave her home. She loves to\
run around with the other dogs, but today is not the day to be running
in the grass and getting wet and muddy.

How is your weather today Sal?

We're going to a bbq at a friend's house. It's our 24th anniversary!

I'm supposed to get together with some people today, I'm a little more tired than I'd like so I think I'm going to try and finagle a halfway meet-up for a short lunch. My eyes and heart want to see my friends, the body...?

I guess this Memorial wekend goes back about two weeks. My nephew and his wife had their first child. So my Mom was realling itching to go down and see it. She was wanting to go in the middle of the night when they were in labor. Well I don't do interstates unless I am really used to them and know the way. So that mean I only drive to my daughters house in Lexington. I don't go to Cincinatti! So they arranged to meet my Mom in Lexington yesterday if we could get her there. Well it down't take much of excuse for me to see the grandbabies! So we were theri a little less than 24 hours. We took them to Gatti Town pizza today. I don't know if anyone else is familiar the place. It's like Chunky Cheese. Total sensory overload and hot, a lot of lights and noise. I get more exhausted when I am either standing still or walking slowly. And that's what you do in a place like that. But it was fun. And Mom will be able to stay at my brothers house for 5 days and get all she needs of holding her newest Great grandchild. My brother will drive her home later this weekend. So that's what we have done!!!

This afternoon, we took my Dad and his wife to the airport, so they could return home, following a 10 day visit. (The purpose of their trip, other than to visit their wonderful daughter (me!), was to attend my son's HS graduation last weekend.)

I ended Memorial Day weekend by having 4 friends over to watch a movie.

It looks like everyone had a nice weekend.. Thanks for contributing.

Isn't it nice to be home and back to normal, though?

Normal! Yesterday I did my normal Memorial Day routine, lots of walking, a parade, more walking to the cemetary, standing during the cermony, and walking back to the car. We always have a party after, and I was by then completely useless to help my poor husband with the grilling and everything else. I'm feeling a bit better today, but in the future I'll have to cut down on the walking for the Memorial Day festivities. I did have the foresight to take today off work.

I have to add that this is one of my favorite holidays, maybe my favorite of all. I'm not a veteran and only my grandfather served in an American war (Korea), plus I'm married to a Brit. But I like going to the ceremonies and all of that--I do love this country, for all its flaws, and I think it's important that we honor our vets.

At one point the speaker asked us all to say "I'm proud to be an American" and my husband said "I'm proud to be a Permanent Resident". It was hard not to chuckle.

Like your husband, I am also a permanent resident. Proud to still be a Canadian citizen, but consider the U.S. to be home. Have lived here over 25 years.

My husband's English mother had an affair with an American on a military base near Oxford, hence my husband. She later married another American and they all came here.

He loves America too. But we may go back to the UK one day if I can't get the medical treatment I need. All of his family, except his mum and daughter, still live there.
