I don't know if MJ had that skin condition, but I have something similar. It does the opposite for a white person.

I have photosensitivity, or at least that's what they are calling it, and my skin is turning brown. It started off on my hands and arms (isn't that what he covered first?), and has made it's way up to my back and chest. It was in patches at first, and now it pretty much covers all my skin on my upper body.

If I was in the public eye, I would cover the white patches with brown toner, but since it doesn't matter, I don't worry about it.

Now his nose was another story ...

Wow... have you ever been tested for hemochromatosis?
It can do that to the skin too.

I have some interesting links here recently:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread90209.html

It is sometimes called melasma in women when it occurs on the face...when in fact it might be more serious than that. There is a picture on one of the links of a woman with "melasma" who in fact tested positive for hemochromatosis!

Another cause is tinea versicolor. I have a patch of that on one of my forearms. It is a normal skin fungus that can suddenly change and go deeper into the skin...in light skinned people it bronzes in the sun, and in darker pigmented skins it blanches.
Liquid antifungals work best on it. I've reduced mine to 25% of what it was since last summer, with liquid clotrimazole applied once a day, after cleaning the area with alcohol. Sulfur soaps also help. This is a very common skin condition. Everyone has the potential of developing it at one time or another.

Oops, sorry for taking this thread so off track. Michael Jackson's death is really "all about me".

THANK YOU so much for your input, Mrs D. I have not been tested for that, but I am of Irish decent, and I do have a problem with my adrenal glands. They are monitoring me for "shadows" these days ....

That pic is what it looks like, but darker now.

I am going for my 50th "annual" with my doc soon, so I will have him test for that. Thanks so much!

Yes, Michael Jackson did have Vitiligo and it does affect white people differently than black people. Just covering it with makeup doesn't work for everyone who has it.

He also had Lupus that was in remission for him. With these two things, no wonder he covered himself so the sun didn't get to him.

I also believe he had many problems otherwise. He never had a childhood, so to speak, and was most comfortable when he was on stage per his own words in an interview. He couldn't go anywhere due to somebody always there ready to take pictures, etc. He and his brothers endured beatings with a belt from their father. I can believe that.

Yes, he seemed a bit weird with some of the things he did but I think it is understandable. I wouldn't want his life for all the tea in China.

I just heard of his family trying to do an intervention in 06 so i did a quick search and found this--
I wondered why they were saying his pvt drs was with him at the time he had collapsed...
I'm not surprised that something like this comes out but I had never heard it before.

[Reports: Jackson took Demerol, other painkillers

By STAFF REPORTS

Friday, June 26, 2009

Michael Jackson received a Demerol injection shortly before he died, celebrity Web sites reported Friday.

In addition, Los Angeles police are looking for Jackson’s personal physician, who has not been seen since the singer’s death Thursday, according to TMZ.com and the British Sun tabloid.

Web sites and news services painted a picture of family that had become increasingly worried about the singer’s use of prescription drugs.]

Well, years ago I saw his sister, LaToya on a talk show. I think it was back in the days of early Geraldo.

She explained in DETAIL how Michael got huge boxes of Hydroquinone creams to bleach his skin. And she used his stash herself. (showed with her hands how big the boxes were)
At the time she also was lightening her skin, and also had the nose job as well. I can't see her making that up, so I believed it.
The lupus story may just be a cover for it all IMO. After using hydroquinone, one cannot have sun exposure.

We now know that hydroquinone (and the form he used was the strong one, not the 2% one) is quite damaging. And it never was used medically for all over the body use either. I used to compound it commonly for African American patients at the 4% strength on prescription. It is not stable for long periods of time, so has to be used up fairly quickly. It is also mixed with Retin A (and if he did that too, it increases cancer risk considerably). It was most commonly used in small amounts to bleach the darkened scars from acne. Darker pigmented skin becomes darker when damaged by acne or other scarring.
The over the counter products are 2%. RX only like Melanex, Solaquin are 4% and come in small sized 1 or 2 oz packages.

Exclamation

Well that 911 tape played on CNN just now.... no emotion, no request for immediate help, and when the operator said get him on the floor and start CPR the male caller said the doctor tried that already. In effect he was already dead. And some are saying he was dead for 2 hrs before the EMS was called. One witness claimed he was "cold" when picked up.

And the police can't find the personal physician and towed his abandoned car away! Impounded.

Chronic use of Demerol can cause seizures. This happens because a toxic metabolite accumulates and irritates the brain.
Demerol is only to be used for acute occasional use.

Looks like we will find that this tragic death could have been prevented.

details on Demerol:
