I have officially entered the Part D Gap/Donut Hole etc.
Ugh! Now I have to find serious extra bucks to have the honor of having Part D coverage again. Whose brilliant dea is it to make any insurance that quits smack in the middle anyway (rhetorical question)?? Anyone know how I let them know I have spent $ on some drugs without going thru insurance (via the $4.00 generic lists). I figure I need every deduction I can get my hands on... What a bummer way to start my day

Oh, bummer, Jane! It doth sucketh, what a racket.
I'd bet my nickel that your pharmacy can generate some kind of report that would do the trick for documentation.

I'll be eligible for Medicare in Nov. 2010. Planning, probably, to keep the insurance coverage that I currently purchase thru DH's employer. Expect that will cover this "gap" thing I've been hearing about.
Wonder if it'll cost me more every month to pay these stupid extra medicare premiums, than I'll get in benefits. And, if these benefits will be more of a burden than a help. Yes, j. I agree the AMN. Your coverage doth sucketh. ~ Faith

idiot designed this program. freaking idiots. You can tell they were folks who had been sitting on pretty policies, and have NO clue how the real world works.
Like asking a politician how much a gallon of milk costs, or what is the price of gas. They stare at you blankly and have NO clue how the real world works. Oh! I know, we can save money, by putting in a donut hole! no one could possibly reach that amount of spending on health care. could they?? idiots!

I won't be eligible for Medicare until September 2010. Until then....I have nothing. It's not a good feeling to know that. I should probably start researching Medicare now but I figure it'll probably change by the time I'm eligible.......or the geniuses up on Capital Hill will decide that we don't need it anymore and it won't be available to me.

If you are on one of the shot meds for MS, it doesn't take you long to go in and out of the donut hole. But I agree with everyone, it does suck! One med I am on now for the pain, while in the donut hole, would cost over $1200 for a 30 day supply. These wonderful folks must think we are able to snatch money off trees to cover the medicine.
