Default What does everyone do for entertainment

Just wondering what people here do for leisure or entertainment, especially those who are alone or have more severe mobility issues.

I do things with the women from my church. We knit hats for the poor kids in the winter, and do bake sales in the summer. We are always up to something silly. When not doing that, I play on the computer, and watch TV, and listen to books on audio tapes. I try to not seclude myself into my house, even though its oh so tempting. Even on tough mobility days, I try to at least get out for a car ride.

I read, play on the computer, tend to my little garden, take care of the birds around here (and they are demanding), and volunteer my time to several worthy causes. I belong to 2 cats so that takes up some of my time and alot of my money. I cook, try to keep my house clean, sort of keep an eye out for my elderly neighbors (she wonders so I'm scared she'll take off someday and get lost). I try to donate food at the end of each month to the food pantry here in our county. On days that fatigue gets to me I nap alot.....and I'm so thankful that I have the option to do that!

My life revolves around eating out, television, computer, grocery shopping with my son and dad and not a whole lot else.

I also sew my clothes, but my sewing room has still not been set up after we moved into the house this spring. My dad may come over this week and help me get the machines out of boxes, so that will add more to my activities.

I am trying to figure ways to enjoy life more. Had thought about volunteering, but don't know what I would like to do as a volunteer. There are some museums in the Phoenix area that I might go to when the temps go down about 40 degrees.

- shoot big bottle rockets at small targets in low earth orbit. Seriously.
- mess with AMN and DM's minds
- golf
- beach walkin' and pretending I'm still 20 years old... lookin' like a fool
- Pullin' weeds, mowin' the lawn. trimmin', etc
- take neat vacations to places like the Grand Tetons

I'm not alone and my mobility issues are not severe. I've had MS for (um, gotta think... since Jan 1988...) - over 21 years.

I run power generators for the MS150 bike thing from Houston to Austin every year.

I do other things too. I don't "do" MS. That's kinda counter-productive.

Please - do what you want and can. Always.
