Default argh...I cant sleep!

I dont know if I'm having problems sleeping because of the IV steroids I had last week, or if it's just the normal insomnia.

Because of something that happened a few minutes ago, I wont be able to sleep now without leaving the lights on.

(disclaimer...this is NOT a political thread. My mentioning politics here is just background to help explain what happened)

I like politics, and there's a guy named Machosauce (Alonzo Rachel) on a website called PJTV that posts videos with commentary about politics. (not going to go into the political stuff here, just telling you about the website for some background)

I was just there, and noticed that he'd posted about 3 or 4 new videos. So, I was watching them, they're usually pretty good. Bit of comedy to them.

I get to one of them, and he'd posted a warning about graphic video in it. The last time he did that, it was just a little blip of video of a girl in Iran who had been shot and killed during some riots. I'd seen the video on tv and while it's creepy and graphic it doesnt strike terror into me quite the way that I'm freaked right now.

So, I'm watching his commentary video, and all of a sudden the graphic part of the video came on. It was the video that some terrorists had posted several years back of them beheading a reporter. I've managed to never see this video. Ever. I've come close on another occasion, but managed to close the browser window in time to not see or hear anything.

It took me a second to realize what it was, and I'm on a Mac, and am still not used to going to the opposite side of the screen to close a browser, so I just ran out of the room and managed to not see the video.

Unfortunately, I heard some of it before I put my fingers in my ears and started humming to block it out. (I couldnt come back into my room for several minutes...)

Back when that murder first happened, I managed to not see the video, but heard a reporter describe it on tv, and my boyfriend told me that he'd seen it, and to never ever ever watch it if I can help it.

I cannot really express how much just the still pictures from the beginning of that particular video freaks me out, if I were to ever see the rest of the video I'd probably need therapy for years. Having heard the little bit that I did hear, now I cant get that out of my head. I'm actually shaking.

Does anyone else think that that particular video needs to be removed from the internet?? (I think the people who murdered that reporter need to be removed from this planet, and some of them probably already have)

I'm not going to be able to sleep at all now. (I'm also probably never going back to PJTV.com again because I dont want to run into that video again) I think I'll go curl up into a fetal ball in the corner and rock back and forth for awhile...

I know it's hard to watch, but they posted that so the world would understand just how awful the situation is in Iran.

Everything we see, hear and do in life is meant to be a learning experience. I watched that video (and many others), and knew that those people are now spirits guiding those who might just make a difference.

Death is not the end of life, it's just the end of that one physical one. Life and spirit never dies, it's moves to another lifetime, body, and experiences, much in the same way we change our clothing.

I know it's easier said than done, but try to not let the senseless violence that happens all of the world control your own life. Instead, let it allow you to have control over how you react to it. By doing so, it gives power not only to yourself but also to those who have died.

I would be freaked out. I intentionally stay away from places that may show me such things. I hope you dont go back to this website. it doesnt sound like a place I would want to hang out. He doesnt sound funny, and is using terrible tactics to get attention for his causes.

I hope you were able to sleep.

the video from Iran showing the girl who had been shot I understand. (and not the video that I was talking about)

It's the video from several years back where they show terrorists in Pakistan (or somewhere like that) decapitating that reporter that terrifies me and was the one that freaks me out.

Thing is, the guy (Machosauce) at PJTV that does some commentary videos is really good at what he does. Some of his commentaries really make you think. I just really think that he needed to have a bit more of a warning on that particular commentary video...he needs to say not just that it's got graphic images in it, he needs to say that the beheading video is on that commentary. I'm sure that there are others out there who are just as freaked out and scared of actually seeing that video as I am.

When the terrorists who killed that reporter originally released that video, it worked. It terrifies me. I had nightmares for a few days or weeks after that happened about the reporter being murdered, and I've never watched the video. I've heard a description of it, and that was enough to scare the crap out of me. It also makes me angry, that there are people in the world evil enough to murder someone like that. It's bad enough that there are people in the world who kill, but the way that reporter was murdered, just for his religion (and probably the fact that he was a reporter)...and because the terrorists have that much hate...

I'm amazed that I've been able to avoid actually seeing more than just the first frame of the video before they kill the reporter. But now I've heard part of it, and cant get that out of my brain. Machosauce really needed to put a better disclaimer on his commentary videos. I really dont think I'll be able to go back to PJTV.com and watch his commentary videos again.

I did get some sleep...didnt have a nightmare, but now that I'm awake, I'm still a lot disturbed by hearing what I did on that video as I was making a mad dash out of the room to get away from it. Maybe I'm a bit more emotional about this because I had IV steroids last week...I dont know...I'm just a lot freaked out by the sounds on that video.
