oh Amy! that is wonderful. You displayed great courage in the face of a disastour, and helped turn it into a victory. Way to go! I am glad your sister is safe, and in a stable home, and wont have to worry about what lays behind the door, each time she turns the key. There is a reason they tell folks in NA and AA to not get in a serious relationship for at least one year clean, and then get a plant, and if its alive in 6 months, get a dog, if its alive in one year, consider dating. That puts 2 clean years of living behind them, and gives them a chance to deal with their own issues, before being buried under someone elses. At least her money will go to her needs, and not his pipe.
Congratulations on a job well done. I am not sure I would have displayed as much courage, or patience with my sister. of course I have been burned over and over and over. I am glad yours sees the light. I am glad you get to claim victory with her.
