Default Pepi dropped the "S" bomb

I had every intention of sleeping in late today.

At 6:30 a.m. Pepi lePew dropped the Stink Bomb. We had the A/C turned off, (so how did the smell get inside the house?) but it woke me from a deep sleep, even through my CPAP!

It couldn't be stinkier around here if someone had dumped a 20# bag of chopped onions in every room! It stings my eyes!

No, I don't know if the animals got sprayed. I don't have the courage to open the back door and check. Not sure if I could tell at this (stinky) point.

And yes, the pet food is up on the patio table.

Hayelp! My daughter is coming today and bringing the wee little guy for a visit. I sure hope the smell is gone by then.

oh ! pepe la PEW!

http://www.hsus.org/wildlife/urban_w...th_skunks.html

They offer a recipe on a cleaning product for it. easy to make and from what I hear, quite effective.

cover ups like air fresheners WONT do the trick, you are gonna have to find his spray spot, and wash it down. Skunk smell can carry for more than a solid mile as the crow flies, so it may not be as close as you think.

Good luck.

Take the food off the patio table. There is nothing worse than skunk smell. It can make you vomit I have gagged more than once. And it does permeate the house. It just seeps in.

I believe cat urine is in 2nd place if they spray.

Where do you Peeps with skunk problems live? I've only seen and smelled Skunks, while driving out in the country. I'm a city gal, we just have mice and stuff.

A phone call just now from DH prompted me to see if there was a Dead Skunk in the backyard. I don't see one, but the dog sure does look (and smells) guilty! Yeesh!

Thanks for the de-stink suggestions, Kitty.

If DH would have just listened to me for once! I suggested he chain the dog up and let the skunk discover that the free lunch program had been canceled! But NO! He wouldn't listen!

I'm mad! He's away for the day at his office. I'm stuck here in the smelly house with company coming!

Hi Twink!

This happened to us years ago when we were leaving food out for the cats on our patio.

A skunk sprayed one cat and our screen door! The cat hid out in the bushes and kept a low profile and the smell did fade but dh got rid of the door and replaced it!

Varmits love it when we leave food out for them. Since so many varmits carry rabies please don't leave food out. Just give your outside pets what they will eat and take the rest in till next feeding time.

Go pay him a surprise visit for lunch!! I'm sure if you've been in the house all this time you probably smell pretty "ripe", too!! That'll teach him!
