Heart Anyone have a copy of Interview De and Dr T

I lent my copy out and did not get it returned. I thought I had another, but can't seem to find it. I did contact the TV station twice and did not hear back yet for a copy.

I would like to put it on a Blog about our loss and the cause. THere have been legal things going on, coming to a close, and I want to share our De, and her TOS story.
This was back in the late 90's from the old forum I shared the copies.
Thanks for being our dear family of friends.
Di

OT...it is so good to see you here. I have missed you. Sounds like you have been busy as with all patients doing their best to keep their heads above water with life & pain. Think of you so often.

Love to see the interview!

Do you remember any of the old BT members that might have had it?
I didn't find you all til 03, so not much help.
Maybe you can google the old user names and connect that way??
or use the wayback machine to find old posts/user names??

mrsD uses it a lot - she might have some tips to help you find what you need.

Heart The Promise to J & J to warn my friends

Thanks Jo

I have my old aol address book, I can try to send out a mail. So many emails have changed. I know there were two in MD, one in PA, Julie in TX maybe.

I am going to call the one videophotographer back. He stores the old stories but I do not know how far back.

I know I must have an old VHS, but it may be at De's and there are hundreds of unmarked video's there.

I don't know if this will help, but Vanderbilt University has the largest television news archive in the world. If they don't have the video of De maybe they would know how to get a hold of it.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the idea.
I am contacting a news reporter that interviewed Tommy and I. There is a videographer in their team that does archive searches and records. He has a huge library. I hope I hear back soon.

I want to update,
I have been in litigation with XXXX, over the failure of the patch.
The attorney's from CA were in for depositions recently.
We just got the call a few hours ago that a settlement was reached. Even after the attorney's get their portion and fees, the amount it will be enough to start healing the kids. When I pass away I know that the kids will be OK.

It put a value to her loss, it gave credibility to our claim of the leaking of the patch. I can more or less come out of hiding my emotional battle we have been going through.

From this I will be strongly advocating for the packaging production change and warnings on the package.

I never want a family to lose their loved one with uninformed risk.
We once thought this was a wonderful alternative to the amount of pills and what it did to her body...
Nothing can bring her back, but now I have answers.

From Wayback:

http://web.archive.org/web/200205151...ML/005261.html
This thread discusses "a video"... don't know which one however.
gives some addresses.

This is the link to the oldest posts on early Braintalk:

The above was the first of the newer board.

This is the link to Thoracic Outlet of 2000 and before...
This was not easy to find, BTW.

And, DiMarie...you'll be heartened to know that Duragesic patches reformulated and no longer uses the reservoir form of the patch. They now use the safer matrix type.

I am relieved for you, that this is almost over and you can now get some closure. This whole thing was such a tragedy!

Thank you for the links Mrs D,
I can nail down a date for the TV station to search now,

The redesign is only certain manufactures doing the Matrix. This was discussed during depositions.

I let the attornies know until my dying breath I will speak about this killing Brand Duregesic patch, until they STOP and redesign.

If the other producers are doing Matrix and not using the defective machine, why is Duregesic Jansen, as J & J insist on still using it?
Because they are making Billions on them.

The Attorney's from CA, Tx and NY have been livid about this. It hurts seeing the Pain of the families they represent.

There was a recent recall in July 09 and/or August 09. ....collateral damage.

Now the big thing is blaming heating pads. Just because it is likely a pain patient will be using heating pad. This was not the case in De's situation, but years ago she did use the heating pad.

My family lost our precious child that was preventable, we never (De and I) would have placed one patch on her knowing the risk, knowing the amount of opiad in them.

If only the Pharmacist, the doctor, the recall took all those patches back and stoped production on that machine back in 2004/05.

We need to heal, I know it is impossible to bring her back, but that is what I want. I want to hold her, see her children, brush her waist lenght hair and braid it. Some night I just go alone and scream her name.
I cry everyday missing her........

I try to remember the good times, Laugh at how she dolled up to see a specialist as if she were going to a huge date.
When She saw Dr Scot she had glitter on her. LOL, he wanted an updated xray of the Loradosis, curve in her neck....the glitter showed on the xrays and we all laughed.

Memories are all I have,
I do not want anyone to go through this. The FDA has to get on the ball to monitor this situation.
