Heart today I....

Today I want to thank all of you for your help and kind words and research. I don't know what I would do without all of your assistance and mental sanity restoration!! You all GET IT like nobody else in my life can so thank you all for that!!

Ditto to what Mark has said about pain free days....mine is 7-8 out of 10 today but I had a really nice time at a Burn's supper last night at our local army mess hall quite a memorable and ambient event....loved it and my Dad was singing two of burns songs so it was extra special......

love and to all

thanks!,
Victoria

Default Today I.....

Am glad that Dawn is doing well post-op. I'm also wondering... those of you that said you had a choking sensastion - are you talking about the front/side of your neck near the collarbone? thats KILLING me today, and its a relatively new pain. Short of calling the doc, what can I do about it?

Dabbo,
Do you mean choking like you can't swallow normally or like things are getting pulled up into your throat or like a very tight necked sweater is on you?
If the latter that was scalene & SCM spasms for me- pulling up on the top rib and collarbones and then mine stuck like that until the PT guy did a rib mobilization and dropped it all back down.
I don't know how it would work during active spasms though.
mine were mostly resolved by the chiro- just some residual tightness that went away after the rib mob worked.
If you have a PT or DC that will try it or a friend - i have a description posted on here somewhere.
but first time might be best with a pro to see if if helps or not.
Peter Edgelow uses that as part of his tx plan.

Thanks for the link Jo - you hit the nail on the head- its like wearing a tight-necked sweater on half of my neck. Its kinda depressing that when the doc/pt and seem to get the pain manageable, something new and different pops up. I'm usually all for variety, but not in this case!!
