this technique might clear up a headache. be sure to use lotion or you might get a skin abrasion.

also, alternating heat and cold can jump start stuck lymphs.

I'm meaning wrap the washcloth and the armpit and shoulder to hold the steam and warmth in longer...

They are very tender but never amount to anything (they dont pop - just leave surface of my skin a bit red) They have been coming and going so eventually i went to docs earlier today and he wants to send me to have a lymph node biopsy!!!

It then occured to me that this could possibly be tos related so thought i would run it past you guys.....my doc did suggest possibly just blocked sweat glands but wants to refer me for tests to be sure.

very worried now - trying not to as i know most cancers (lymphomas and hodgkins) are not painful lumps.....but then i also know that tos seems to be responsible for all sorts of strange things!!
the bold part makes me wonder about acne inversa....

Armpits are a common location for trigger points.

There are so MANY nerves there in another very small outlet! Some branch to the side of the breast and others down the side of the ribcage. I can feel most of them.

What I wanted to say is, if the lymph massage doesn't work, it may be the bumps are actually trigger points, from constant muscle spasm and irritation. If so, you can help relieve those by slowly increasing, but firm pressure, and keeping the pressure applied as firmly as possible until you feel the trigger point "give". A PT or massage therapist will know how to do this and can teach you as well. But it can be fierce to do, especially in extra tender areas like this!

If I remember correctly what my PT told me about the lymph drainage, the touch is almost feather light, done in small constantly moving circles, and always towards the heart.

Hope you are feeling better!

i just have to bump this

i am experiencing the EXACT same thing on my atrophied/winged side. my arm pit feels FAT. i suppose there are trigger points in there but im having a hard time distinguishing them from a lymph node. also its just overall tenderness and fatness that doesnt exist anywhere else.

i asked my pt if it was my pec minor and he said it was my serratus and lats i think??? which is interesting. i assumed pec minor.

Sounds like lymph, body wraps can be very effect, or just a daily dry brush, always towards the heart. Either do a self body wrap, or if you go to a spa, make sure they actually wrap the area, most spa wrap are for weight loss, and usually the armpit isn't thought of as fat .

Yoga is fantastic for lymph, make sure to do any modifications for your tos (bent elbows for example) in yoga back off on any posture that triggers symptoms. Hot yoga is really great for lymph and nerve glides. I love hot locust pose, and eagle is great if you squeeze all your joints into the body... The idea being you squeeze into the joints, constrict the blood flow and then release for fresh blood flow (different than vascular constriction in tos, nonetheless)

Lymph nodes can fill up for a number of reasons, allergies, colds, soft tissue injury, scratches in the skin, food allergies. It's the main blood cleansing system and that's why it's also so prone to dis-ease. Good luck.
