Default Pain Relief Fight With DEA

Dear friends,

I have been reading about the recent fight with the DEA for all other states to get decent pain relief.

For my own doctor, I am aware patients fly in periodically to get their pain mgt. as their own states have gone overboarad in "protecting" them from pain medications and licensed doctors.

If you have this situation, and want to talk about it anonymously with me, please PM and I'll call you and help as I can.

God bless you. Best not to post about this subject. The DEA has gone kookoo if you ask me, not understanding the difference between true pain relief for an injury, vs. criminal behavior to misuse or selling oxy contin or other highly regulated drugs. I do not agree with going after well intentioned pain mgt. doctors just because they have a clientele group of high pain patients and MUST prescribe accordingly.

I am going to contact the national Pain groups (actually controlled by pharmacy companies) and get the latest on this subject. j

Again, just PM me if you'd like to remain anonymous but know more about this new political subject which should never have come into the political arena to begin with - it's our right to have pain relief and a private relationship with our docs when we have a legitimate injury as we do. For some reason - I think because you cannot "see" the nerve damage with your eyes, as you can an amputation or someone using crutches, that there is a tendancy to fail to appreciate the high pain many of us suffer.
