I have tried the ball but unfortunately my spine feels all compacted lately too. In fact I feel like I want to tell people to "Shake me up!" like in this scene of Bleak House: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNySOLFLjGA
A fright isnt the word - i just cannot find a reasonable explanation for what happened....fortunately my love of sleep has overcome the fear of what may fall on me next during the night! I never watch scary films.....too much of a fraidy cat - loved them when i was a teenager but cant watch them these days.

I often feel like my neck has that compacted feeling and i am always stretching it out (or at least trying to).....couldnt imagine my whole spine feeling like that....hope some of the ideas suggested can help you get some relief.
