Cindy- unbelieveable. I can't imagine how you made it through. So glad you are on the mend. What a horrible experience.

Sooooo glad your surgical repot is good! I have fibrous bands and an extra artery in the area so I am hopeful surgery will be helpful for me too. The Dr I talked to yesterday made it all sound so easy.....lol. Oh yeah, you'll be up and around in a few days, can get second side done in 4-6 weeks tohugh you will feel a little beat up after.... no reason you won't want to come home after one night in the hospital...I knew I should come back to the board and read about real experiences to bring me down to earth.

I will remember your story to keep me grounded. And hope for your full and happy recovery.

Help

Oh Cindy, you poor thing(s)!!! The worst thing that could happen and it happens to you. Glad the antibiotics are kicking in, now just watch that disc - baby yourself! Good news about the OR findings - I'll be praying for your family that finally you are on the road to wellness!

Thank you all for your prayers.Ifeel a little better again today so i am hoping the worst is over finally. I am as weak as a kitten though so i have alot of strengthening to do. I swept the floor for the 1st time today and it felt like i had done 8 hours of manual labour lol. I am taking it very slowly with my back as i know from past experience it will take awhile to heal. Hope today finds you all in the least pain possible. (((((hugs))) cindy

glad you are on the mend after all the complicating factors!

sweeping is one thing that bothers me at times and the dog sheds like crazy!
I need one of those little robot vacuums to follow around behind the dog LOL

Hi all, I am still recovering from the pneumonia and getting a little more active. It seems all the complications have set me back a long way in my recovery.I had to miss my 6 week post op check woih the surgeon( mid march) because hubby and I were still too sick with pneumonia to make the 2 hour drive and my back was still too bad. Now I don't see the surgeon until april 16th. So I still haven't got the whole surgery report. But I have a question if a few of you wouldn't mind replying. Nobody told me if I was supposed to have PT after this surgery. I saw PT day before my surgery and they showed me a few things to do following surgery but that was it. So do we need to have PT fter rib resectin and muscle removal? I am still unable to get a full breath, but the last chest xray they did when i had pneumonia said my lung was still partially collapsed at the bottom. So I dont know how long that is supposed to take to heal. I started doing a little housework but there isn't much that doesn't flare me up. Can someone tell me if you were supposed to have PT after surgery?? thanks and (((hugs))) and prayers for all of you!
