Hi Shelley and TOS team,
I have had Cervical Dystonia for the past 16 years. At one point, I was DX with TOS as well, and did Peter Edgelow's protocol for a year with no improvement. The primary focus has been on the dystonia symptoms, but recently I began seeing a PT who believes my issues began when my first rib became elevated/fixated while nursing/falling asleep with my third son. She believes that my muscles became dystonic while trying to correct the rib issue, and 16 years later, bones and muscles alike are inflexible and stuck. I recently saw a post by Shelley regarding CD/TOS/HSV and the use of valtrex, which initially helped all issues? I had a very severe case of chicken pox at 25, and my medical issues started when I was 32. My question is for Shelley, or anyone who cares to chime in, is: Did you continue the use of Valtrex, and did your symptoms improve while you were on it? Obvoiusly this is a shot in the dark, but the initial reaction seemed promising! Thanks for listening, Lisa |

I also had chicken pox late, and then got it more than once and developed shingles.
I then developed RSD very badly with the neuro TOS from overwork on the computer. When my RSD flares, I take Acyclovir (is that the early Valtrex?) and Benadryl as well as Ativan which one or all can stop a flare up of the bright red skin, blisters, etc. I throw this in just for thought, as all are nerve related. |

Hi LIsa,
Someone emailed me and said you had a question. We are traveling today and I am finally able to send you this message on my iphone. I will send you a more complete answer tomorrow. But yes I have gone off and on it several times and each time the muscle improve. I have some theories that I have read as to why so I will post tomorrow. |
