I had heard as others suggested to try recumbent bike and elliptical with no arms....
Also Dr. Jordan told me specifically to do Tai Chi as was very safe for arms.

Haven't done any of them myself yet, though except buy a tai chi dvd. I shoudl get that out this afternoon or something.

I can walk for a while, but the back spasms get to me. I haven't tried to do any specific distance, for me it is more a choice- I either can or cannot make it to the park to play a while and back home again (b/c I have my little kids with me). Not quite the equivalent of walking, but it is the most exercise I get. Park is about 1/2 mile round trip walk + run around the structure after my 18mo. I'd say I can do it 70% of the time....

Default Sorry!

Your right Victoria, I forget. If I lived where there was snow, I probably would not get out and attempt it. I guess I would have to get a treadmill then.

Unfortunatley, I live about 45 minutes from the beach here, so I don't have the luxury of walking everyday there. Sure is a nice thought though!

When I lived in FL, I found it too difficult to walk IN the sand. Too hard on the BP to 'pull' my body along an uneven surface - kept feeling so off-balance, I wasn't focusing on my posture.

I stuck to the sidewalks along the beach or the hard sand right by the water.

Default no beach!!!

Oh Peggy ,
so sad you are so far away from the beach...... but at least you have the sunshine and the warmer weather!!! I love the beach....we have a treadmill here, at my folks place, but It makes things so bad and have been advised not to use it as the thumping on the hard surface causes damage to the BP...... I wish I could use it!! sorry about typing..cat's tail litterally in my eye~~ But the cuddle is nice so I keep putting up with it!!!

take care all....in our forcast of up to 50cm of snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

love and hygs Victoria
